Morning All
The reading went well, and because on antibiotics I stuck to lemonade, which is why I'm up so bright and early. There is nothing like a roomful of applause, am such an old tart I remain high on it for days. Viv coming round this morning, normally we sit in a caff and write, but I've got to wait in for Hotpoint man. And why is that ? Well, thanks for asking. It's cos I put washing up liquid in the dishwasher, and produced a foam mountain reminiscent of the Swiss Alps, here in my very own kitchen. It was an art installation, really, and if that Tracey Emin had done it, she'd have sold the entire kitchen for squillions. Certainly was the transformation of the commonplaceAll Art is the transfiguration of the commonplace

Good Morning All
Im very tired this morning, despite me being in bed at 10pm.
Had a good day on the school trip y-day. I had 4 giggly girls to look after. It was hard work when your not used to it. Hats off to those helpers/teachers/chldminders out there! DD teacher did ask me to come and join them permantly at school! Mmmm - not sure I have the mentality do so!
Managed to get some washing done last night.
Still got a couple more loads to get through after work.
OH treated DD to an ice-cream after school. As we left the house to go to the van, I quickly & accidently shut the door behind me leaving the keys in the house.. Took us about 1/2 hr to try and grab them off the side, using a spade through the cat flap! DS came back in time, so we could shove him through the toilet window! We finally got in!
Best be off.

Morning all
Mioliere - That trip sounds amazing - glad you had a great time.
Crazy chick - I remember putting DD through the kitchen window when she was 3 so that she could unlock the door for us - she thought it was a great adventure.
Hugs to the rest of you - especially those with poorly LO's at the mo.
I've got the start of my monthly migrene that I seem to be having on this medication, it's all part and parcel of it but annoying just the same. I've downed some tablets in the hope that it might go away.
Went for a lovely walk along the beach last night, sat on the stones watching all the ferries going in and out of Dover, there was a huge blindingly white cruise ship too which looked amazing as the sea was that "med" blue colour last night.
House is still tidy from yesterdays good go through, got some ironing to do and the front garden needs hacking back and mowing (will get DH to do that tonight whilst DD's are at youth club).
Chicken curry for tea - well that's the plan anyway.
Hope you all have a great day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Morning all.
Gingham, I’m glad the little one is feeling better now.
Kyle, your little one sounds like my dd was at that age! I hope all goes well at the fracture clinic.
Happy Birthday little miss newster and Mr Thriftlady :bdaycake:
I haven’t managed to post on the daily for a couple of days….It’s my week off work but I was asked to cover for a couple of people who are off sick at the moment. It’s been a nice change to work days instead of evenings, but I wouldn’t want to do it full time. I really admire people with children who can manage to run a home and work full time.
Dd will be 17 on Sunday and can’t wait to learn to drive, so as she finished her AS levels yesterday and has worked really hard I offered to teach her the basics on the driveway..…bad mistake!
We had gone through the starting the car, mirrors, gears, etc and got to the bit about moving off slowly, when she just took off! Dd doesn’t do things by half…somehow she managed to accelerate and at the same time turned the steering wheel to a 45 degree angle and went over a (very small) concrete partition into the front garden! The garden is slightly lower than the drive so the car was balanced precariously and all the pair of us could do was giggle hysterically! The partition is wrecked, but as far as we can tell there’s no major damage to the car. I think I’ll leave the driving lessons to the professionals in future!
Plans for today are ds2’s sports day this morning. He is really excited! I am just hoping that I can avoid the teacher’s eye when it comes to the mum’s races… This afternoon I have Homestart so won’t be home until tea-time. I’ve lifted some sliced pork out of the freezer, so I’ll make pork stroganoff with it when I get home.
I hope you all have a good day.

Morning All,
Wasn't on here yesterday due to very serious overdoing of alcohol on Tues night, all self-inflicted, so non-deserving of sympathy. Yesterday was pretty much of a wash out with me reading or asleep on the chaise longue all day hoping the room would stop going round and round! And of course, yesterday was first day OH had worked at home in ages, so plans for doing simple things like shop after work, or discuss garden in lunch just didn't happen. Nice having him home though!
Today have period pain, which for me since I damaged my back, means associated back pain so I won't be doing much physical today either. So much for lottie digging and gardening. Oh well. Looking forward to nice hot bath, but waiting for PsychoKitty to tire himself out so he can come in the bathroom with me. I need to keep the kitchen door open at the moment. Bailey-Cat brought a mouse in on Tuesday night, which we failed to catch. Echo-cat and Puschka seem to be convinced it's under the fridge, so hopefully it'll work it's way outside with the door open.
Hugs to all those that need them, esp Gingham ribbon. Sorry about chick penpin. Lovely to read about the wedding -arrrh soppy moment.
Have a good day folks.0 -
Morning All. There's just something addictive about catching up on everyone's news before I get going for the day.
<<Gingham>> Sounds like you're going through a tough time. I really admire you for getting your mum to babysit while you do the housework, I imagine many would have got mum to do the housework!
<Moliere>great to see you back! Your description of your trip was such a pleasure to read, sounds like you had a wondeful time. I wish I'd thought of getting married in an italian castle.
<Crazychik> Do you think you perhaps need to move your keys and sort out your toilet window? I know it was fortunate in your case as you locked yourself out, but if you managed to get back in so could a burglar!
Well it's a lovely day here in Berkshire, but apparently we are expecting rain this arvo. I'm planning to pop to the next village this morning as they have a WI market today (it's the third thursday of every month, but I just haven't got around to it). Does anyone know what these things are like?
I also need to pop to the bedding plant place for some eggs, and then I'll go to the gym.
Thi safternoon I'm planning to make some cherry jam. I spent ages yesterday picking cherries. I've never yet successfully made cherry jam. I have trouble judging the setting point with cherries, even with a thermometer and the plates from the freezer. Still, we'll see. I also have enough raspberries to make a batch of raspberry jam, so I think I'll make some more seedless stuff. I'll start it today and leave it straining over night.
I'm making Steak and Kidley puddings today. One for my DH for his dinner, the other for the freezer. They're very easy, just take forever to steam. I'll be having salad.
Not sure what else today will bring. I;ll pop back later to catch up on everyone else's news.

Morning :hello:
((((Hugs)))) to Gingham and all the other Ribbons (I was going to say "Gingham and the Ribbons" then realised that sounded like a 1950s pop group :rotfl: )
Happy birthday moggins junior and newster junior - newster, your DD is almost exactly the same age as me, I've got my 29th in a few weeks.
Haven't had time to set the laptop up yet, but should get that chance tonight :j Working out how to get it to talk to my router will be the interesting bit.
Neighbour is still playing loud music in the mornings  I put a note in his letterbox about it but TBH I'm convinced he's gone on holiday and left it on his alarm timer by accident (it's the same CD, coming on at exactly the same time every morning, and playing right through to the end) so I suspect I will have to put up with it for at least the rest of this week if not longer  I think I'll become an early bird - as long as I am not in the flat between 8 and 9 in the morning I won't hear it, and as I have just received a booklet full of Wetherspoons money-off vouchers, I think I'll go and have brekky at my local Wetherspoons on Saturday morning, and at the one on the way to church on SundayI've got vouchers for fry-ups, coffee + muffin combos, everything
Must be off, I've got a meeting
