Think this is the way to go hon. Hope you enjoy Cornwall, we will be there in late May I hope
Thankyou, sadly it didn't work quite as well as I hoped, has come back and bitten me on the backside really. I haven't heard the last of it !
Cornwall sounds fab, my favourite place. Any idea whereabouts you will go ? Thats where we are heading in July when Mr PG comes home for a few days although DD1 and I are threatening to go in May for some quiet revision time for her. The two of us will be home alone for the half term and it sounds quite a nice idea and a chance to escape xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Bit by bit - you'll get there.
Bleurgh to the visitors and ensuing complications. xx
Cornwall sounds nice - after my many years in this country, I've never been there. The closest is Devon and Dorset - we walked along the coast where the train tracks were recently washed away (Dawlish?).
One place we did discover on the way back, was this side of Lyme Regis. We'd turned off the road so the two cars could meet up. I was map reading and could see this lane lead to the beach. What we weren't expect was the beach also had a caravan park and a lovely pub - yummy food. The pub is just about to finish a major revamp and will have three B&B rooms. One time I'd like to go back and stay for a few days - walk, read, swim, pub . . .

If you go to Cornwall go and camp near the Lizard, lovely places and fab beaches, still quiet and peaceful
We used to go to a campsite called Trelowarren just outside Helston, would recommend here if still around.
Dont bother visiting Lands End, too commercialised these days and you have to pay to have a photo next to the signpost, grr.
If you stay further up nearer St Austell way is lovely. Go to Fowey and get ferry across to Mevagissey which is lovely fishing village. Also Charlestown is lovely for dinnerDebt 13-1-25 - £39K!!!

Is she not staying for VIth form?
No Alex she is off to college to do her A Levels.
6th Form doesnt offer the courses she wants to do anyway, but seven if they did she wants to get out of school and spread her wings.
She cant wait.....she is literally counting down the days ! xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

I'm counting down with her! I imagine she'll have a great sense of relief then, that her exam dates and times are fixed and unalterable. I'll have everything crossed for her xNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Thanks Baldy, I will keep all of your recommendations in mind.
We have been going to Cornwall ever year now for the past 9 years in Autumn, the last two we have combined the trip with work. We always go to Port Isaac, its like a home from home now, we have made some lovely friends there and although its now much busier than it once was, due to the success of Dr Martin, we still love it, although I would hate to go in high season. Everyone really seems to chill out there as there is barely any mobile signal and limited wi fi its great to catch up without interruptions. Its the one thing we promise ourselves come what may and whatever is going on in our lives, we will go, although this year we may not manage it. I will be gutted if we dont go though .
The July trip is to spend a couple of days with Mr PG when he flies back into the country, before he flies pretty much straight back out again !! The weekend we are going there is Polo on the Beach at Watergate Bay, DD2 loves horses and we have wanted to visit for the last few years but the dates never coincided. I have found a tiny, non commercialised site about 20 mins away, we can have camp fires on the beach and its pretty isolated which is just how we like it ! Cant wait !!
We have been to Fowey, it was beautiful but a bit busy for our tastes, not too keen on lots of peoplebut we have never been to Mevagissey or Charlestown so will definately think about that if we manage to go in OCtober. We wont have time in July, the plan is to watch the horses and chill out together around a campfire and catch up . Other than that I plan to do nothing !!! :rotfl::rotfl:
It sounds like you have spent alot of time in Cornwall ? xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Hi
We are staying near Penzance with friends...but many years ago honeymoonedon the Lizard near Helston..it's magic. Around Truro and King Harry's Ferry? But have to say it's the North coast that captures my heart. Padstow (ignore Mr Stein's businesses!) and around St Agnes and Perranporth. St Ives. Delabole. Or Gurnard Head which is nearer Pz. And the Moors are amazing.
Beaches and ponies sounds fab. Have fun. Do you have all the camping gear or do you want to borrow some as you pass by me?MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal
