Tidying finally all done, house back to normal and furniture in all of the correct rooms. Mountains of washing and ironing done and yummy leftovers for tea.

Mr PG headed off to work at 5pm, wish he didn't have to go. :(
I have just taken DD1 and friend to a party. She was all dressed up in clothes she was brought for her birthday at the beginning of the month and looked very cute. Shes so teeny tiny, I had to take most things back and change for a Petite size 4, and she still needed a belt !

Tonight I have booked a taxi for £3 to bring DD1 home to save me going out again to collect her, as DD2 will be in bed and I hate leaving her home alone even if I am going round the corner. I have never let DD1 get a cab before without me being in it as well !! She is 16 and shes not even five mins away from home so I have bitten the bullet ! It is all booked and sorted , so I am going to crash out now with DD2 for the evening and look through her photos from her party last night xxx :D Perfect !

Have a lovely evening everyone x

    God I am exhausted !

Family birthday do last night for DD2, and the birthdays for March are now officially over. Phew ! I was too exhausted to clear up last night, so am taking the morning off of work to clear everything up. I swear its messier than it was after her party on Friday night.

The family thing was strained, I felt sorry for DD2 really although she said she had a nice evening. I even forgot to do her cake in amongst the stress . Mr PG will be home tonight so I said that the four of us will do the cake then .I wouldn't mind , but DD2 doesn't even like cake, but I just want to see her blow her candles out ! :p.

Been a mixed weekend really. It was six months on Sunday that my dad passed away, so the weekend and DD2s birthday were tinged with alot of sadness. There have been lots of tears and cuddles. This was then coupled with the news last night that an old friend passed away on Sunday, he was the same age as Mr PG. As is usual at times like this, it puts everything in perspective. :(

Right now though , I need to jolly myself along, get clearing up, then get on with the mountain of things I need to get done today, work included. A few non payers appearing into the mix again that need a swift kick up the posterior !!

    happy Sunny Tuesday everyone xxx

Roll on the hols so dd1 can have a break! Poor kid. Can't believe she's staying that late at school and STILL hasn't done it all. Rubbish organising by the school, methinks. Hope she - and all of you - gets a rest in the hols, and you have some lovely family time together.

And :T to paying some more the THEM.

DD1 is in school every day in the first week. Maths REvision on the Monday, Graphics Coursework on the Tuesday, 7 hour Applied Business Controlled Assesment on the Wednesday, for the life of me I cant remember whats happening on the Thursday , Science I think and then a full days English Workshop on the Friday. This is run by an outside company brought in for the children they are expecting can achieve a A or A* to assist them. It does sound a good idea, but She is not impressed by the long day !! . The Applied Business should have been sat last November but she wasnt able to do it. The children that didnt score well are re-sitting during the Easter Holidays so she is doing hers then as well despite me trying to organise for two shorter sessions this week after school to at least get it started. I arranged these with the teacher for Monday and Wednesday evnening of this week but when she turned up the daft teacher had forgotten she was coming, didnt have the lap tops set up for her and had forgotten what Controlled assesement it was that she needed to do, so the entire one and half hours was a shambles. To say I was angry is an understatement ! DD1 wont get a chance to re-sit, this, but I think she is getting near the end of her tether with it all. Her Graphics Deadline is this Friday , her Art at the end of April. She has had no time whatsoever to actually start revising for the GCSE papers at home at all. She is wiped out when she eventually shows up of an evening. The only saving grace i that some of the classes she is attending after chool are revision classes so in my opinion the more she does there the less she needs to do at home. She has also chosen to re-sit some of her controlled assessment in the last week as she wasn't happy with her grades so in a way that has added to the pressure. I admire her though for her hardwork, noone could accuse her of slacking that's for sure. I am confident though that she will do well. As long as she gets what she needs for college then I am happy. I will not be jumping up and down about the need for A's , that's not my style. She managed A* 's and A's for all of her English Controlled Assessments and as she wants to study English Lit at A Level I am hoping these will stand her in good stead to achieve a good English GCSE grade at least.

I will be so glad when this is all over. Roll on the end of June !! xx

Other news in the PG Household, other than school stuff is all all pretty non eventful -

We rang yesterday to try and organise the return of Mr PGs newly fixed car after the bump the other week for the insurance company to have no knowledge whatsoever of it !! Cue a couple of hours of to-ing and fro-ing to get it sorted. I never really did get to the bottom of the problem, but the car will be back with us by Thursday. This hire car is costing a small fortune in fuel.

The Builders have decided that the problems with our house which revert back to when it was a new build 11 years ago are not rectifiable. We have been told otherwise, but the cost to the builder will be in the region of £25K to put it right, plus redecoration costs, plus moving us all out, plus compensation. They are trying to bury their heads in the sand and have offered us a couple of grand to go away !! We have an Independent Structural Engineer on standby to take a look, but need to wait for some funds to filter through first to enable us to pay him !

The house is looking very tatty indeed, we need to somehow magic some time out of thin air to spruce it up particularly the outside as I want some nice Prom Photos in July ! Mr PG leaving the country in May so if I am going to have his help we haven't got long to get started !

And some lovely news that made us proud is that the Sixth Form Comittee at the school were organizing a concert last night for GCSE and A Level Students. The girls werent involved as DD2 not old enough to take her GCSEs yet and DD1 not taking music. While we were eating dinner last night the phone rung and it was the Head Girl from the school. They had decided at the last minute that they wanted to include some younger children into the concert that night and DD2's name had been mentioned to sing. We abandoned dinner, jumped in the car and within half an hour she was on stage singing her little heart out. So Proud !!! She was third , only child from her year group and youngest performing, there were lots of technical hitches, ie her microphone didn't work, but she soldiered on, and despite the lack of mic we could hear every word she sang. What a little trooper.:p

Right must dash, am off to meet with a building surveyor re the house that was hit by the car the other week !!

    Hi PG,

I can so empathise with the gcse/assessments/revision etc etc.. I feel I've hardly seen my DD since the February HT.. Having booked a week off in the Easter Holidays I now discover like you that in fact she is in school all bar 3 days... think I'll cancel my leave and save it for when she finally finishes... I don't remember it being this complicated when I was at school.. and that was only a short time ago....:rotfl:

We shall just have to keep our fingers crossed that they get through the next few months and then at least they can relax until September...

We also have prom/year book/leavers hoodie/ pay for revision.. its all ££££ going out, no doubt your's is the same....

Roll on the end of June...!

I don't post often/ever.. but do keep up with your diary and lovely family...

I am convinced its far more stressful for the children now than when I was at school, which also wasn't long ago Puzzcat !! :p:p

I am sorry to hear that your DD is also workign herself into the ground. Its horrible to see them so exhausted isnt it ? Wish your DD all the luck in the world for the exams.

Yes the outgoing costs at the moment seem to be constant, it really is in one hand out of the other even more than usual. Have you sorted your DD's Prom Dress yet ? We havent really had much time to look yet, only the one quick trip out and some trawling online for ideas.

I hope you do manage to spend some time with your DD in the Easter Holidays. We have booked ourselves three days (ish) off and at the moment its in the second week when DD hasn't been summoned into school. Although she will need to do revision and coursework I am hoping we can grab the tent and escape for a few days, books and all !! :D
