Hi PG,
I can hear the repetative sound of a spanish assessment being practised through the ceiling as I type... it just goes on and on...
We did order one dress but DD wasn't keen, she's a little laid back about the whole thing and to be honest I'm not a fan, again its something that we never did.. customised uniforms and burnt books outside the school gates but not fancy frocks and limousines.. She has her eye on another one, but we hardly get 10 minutes together so haven't ordered it yet.... Maybe Friday when she actually has a day off.. although of course I'm at work that day...
Thank you for your good wishes and I think our girls are probably quite similar in some ways.. mine is also planning English at A Level and then an English degree.. she can also sing.. but not in public.. well not since the Year 6 Alice in Wonderland, when she played Alice.. Not that I was allowed to watch, I put her off... I was relegated to tea lady in the foyer..:rotfl:
I was hoping for the two of us to get away in early July before the school's break up but at the moment it doesn't look like finances are going to allow it... Although i haven't yet pinned down my OH, who is usually very good at large contributions to this kind of fund... i will keep you posted...Christmas 2020 £109

Hi PG, sounds like it's all been go at your house, as usual, never a dull moment.
Pleased to hear the birthday celebrations went without a hitch. I have a houseful of teenage boys this weekend (well 5-6 of them). DS2 turned 16 yesterday!
DS1 is studying for his NCEA Levl 3 (equivalent to A levels) this year and seems to spend most evening and weekends doing homework and studying. This is on top of his duties on the student council. They really do seem to expect a lot of children these days.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

The girls do sound similar. DD1 loves to sing, not that shes planning on a career out of it, its just fun for her and a stress reliever I think in some ways. Take her mind off of whatever else is going on.
The whole prom thing is crazy, personally I don't agree with it all. Does your DD need an after prom dress as well ?! I told DD she can wear something she already has in the wardrobe for that, shes happy with that plan thankfully ! DD1 got her year book photo back yesterday :rotfl: Really wasn't the best, she is white as a sheet, big bags under her eyes and she got out of bed late that day so her hair is all over the place !! Ive seen better that's for sure ! Anyway that "look" is the one going in the yearbook that she will be remember for for ever more , she is mortified !! :rotfl:
How did the Spanish Assesment go yesterday, I hope your DD thinks it went well xx DD has an Applied Business Mock yesterday, she said it was a breeze, those sort of comments always worry me !! xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

DD did a couple early last year, I suppose its good in some ways but in others it makes the whole GCSE thing last longer. I really hope your DD does well. I havent noticed an overwhelming A or A* pressure coming from the school but maybe DD1 just isn't telling me that bit !
As far as the house goes, I saw Mr PG for an hour yesterday so we took a walk through tour of the house with a big notepad !! DD2s room is done all except painting the radiator, I have put some furniture in front of it so it cant be seen, so I will cross her room off of the list now ! It just needed papering and a lick of paint and I have bought a few odd funky cushions and it looks great. She is in the loft room so we used brick effect wallpaper and strung lots of fairy lights. It looks great I want to move in there myself !
Next on the list is the bathroom thats up there, its just little jobs a lick of paint, the flusher on the toilet has gone rusty and flooring needs replacing. We measured up yesterday and I will price up some cheap flooring. Its only used by DD2 and her friends so doesnt need to be grand. Then I will paint the landing up there, the light is nice so will stay . The other room up there was done about two years ago and still looks nice, so other than a tidy up I can leave that alone.
Once that is done we will work our way downwards and tackle DD1s room next......................... this could be going on for a long time !LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Yesterday was a cray day.
Work was manic, didnt stop all day, Mr PG was sleeping off of nights, although he only managed one hours sleep as he remembered he had a hospital appointment.
I thought it was Wednesday but it was Thursday so got very annoyed with the car people who were dropping off Mr PGs newly shiny repaired car and collecting the rental. I thought they had come on the wrong day and I did get slightly irritated by them !My mistake though for being a dimwit and not knowing what day of the week it was !!
Had a call from the Business Bank Manager and its that time of year again where the overdraft is being reviewed. The goal posts last year when they finally authorised it was that the account was to be more in credit this finanical year than the last It was by a long shot. Yesterdays call though changed the goal posts and he insisted the agreement was that it would go into credit every single month which it didn't so he doesn't think he will get it re authorised. Seems one thing after another at the moment. I am currently compiling figures and an email arguing our case which I will get over to him today.
Before Mr PG went to work, we managed to get bedding and beds etc in the loft which had been hanging around since DDs party last weekend, he fixed the kitchen lights whereby apparently the transformers had blown or something, I tackled a pile of ironing, dead headed the daffodils that have seen better days in the front garden. We measured up the bathroom floor as mentioned above for and then off he went to work. I hoovered throughout last night, helped DD1 with some revision, popped a few loads of washing on and then collapsed in a very tired heap at about 11pm.
I swear this last month has been more hectic than ever. Ho Hum !!! I would be bored if I had nothing to do , but the chance to try boredom would be good !!LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !
