  • He can't have much fight left. He's exhausted. Don't make any decisions until you've both had a chance to regroup. Like you said, this cancelled job may be a blessing in disguise.

I'd still put a cancellation bill in, if a cancellation charge is written into your t&cs.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
  • :( what a day xxxx perhaps your week off together could be spent seriously considering options over whether to sell. You can always make a beautiful home wherever you go and imagine a home which came with no debt, mr pg home more often, smaller mortgage etc... Worth thinking about but no rash decisions which you might regret ;) hugs xxxxx

    Thank you !

I haven't spoken to Mr PG since that call yesterday , so I will have to see how he is feeling when I catch up with him at some point today. He will be home very late tonight.

After battling the ironing pile I sat down and watched both episodes of the Sports Aid programme on hunger.Did anyone else see it ? I have not had time to do the rounds on the diaries.

Makes me feel we have no right to be down, at least we have an income and can put food on the table for the girls and ourselves. Perhaps Mr PG and myself will both feel much better today.

    xx

  • Good to see you're in better form. If you love your home, stick with it. Based on progress to date, you won't be in this position forever and then you'll all have the home you'll enjoy. If however, it's only an it'll do home, then maybe getting rid is the way to go. I know I struggled to keep this house for quite a few years post separation, but I did it as it was where my 2 offspring said they wanted to be. Now they are well into their 20s, it's still where they come for Christmas, etc and we both know, that's the stuff you can't put a price on.

You are right, we all love the house, its perfect for the girls, the location is lovely. BUT, I have had itchy feet on and off since moving here 11 years ago. I sometimes wonder if the house is jinxed as so many things have gone wrong since we moved in, not just monetary. In my deepest darkest moments I think we should just call it a day and sell up .But I dont know where we would go to really. Its a tough one . We have battled so hard to hang onto the damn thing that to give in and sell up seems like the absolute last resort.

But...... I want to spend more time with Mr PG, do fun things with the girls while they still want to (don't get me wrong all things considered we cram as much fun stuff we can into the small amount of time we all have together for which the girls are really grateful) I just wish there were more times like those. I just want the girls to have really happy memories of their child hood not memories of too stressed out frazzled and exhausted parents, and a mum that these days bursts into tears at the drop of a hat. Its not all about the debt I know that , there are pressures every which way we turn at the moment, and those aren't going to ease sadly.

I really really dont know what I want to do and I dont think Mr PG does either xx

  • Making the decision, I find, is always the hardest part. Once made things usually all come together so perhaps a good old think, list of pros and cons of moving, whatever usually helps you decide....and then make the decision and go from there. Since I've made my decision to move I feel much better and I just know everything will work out well now :)

Have a lovely day (do you have this crazy fog where you are?? We can hardly see out the window! )

    Hi PG

    Steps out of lurkdom :):)

My advice is that a house is 4 walls....a home is something completely different.

What would my house be if something happened my husband...it would mean nothing to me without him or the kids. Being happy and content is paramount in life and believe me life goes very quickly. All but one of mine has left for college etc and it has happened in the blink of an eye. Live for today and if its your gut feeling that the house is sitting on your back stopping you living the life that you need to live .. move.

Love reading your diary and you work very very hard. You have a very stressful life and maybe if you downsized/cheaper area life might be less so.

    Take care of yourself.
