Phew this is alot of rambling from me today. I seem to have alot to say !
Quick update of the day is that after writing to THEM I had my letter head on so decided to tackle long overdue things, as work was pretty quiet. I wrote to the Mortgage company as they had been quibbling about an arrangement we have had for a couple of years with them which works perfectly well but they decided to have a slight whinge over it. Its basically because I wont agree to a direct debit to pay the mortgage and transfer the money by faster payment as and when I have it. I then wrote again to the bank re the Bank Charges and told them off. My original complaint was made in November, they rang and said no they weren't playing ball and they then wrote and said the same thing but did admit to charging way over £6K in charges . I wrote back in December asking them to reconsider with another huge long letter and copies of emails and letters to the bank over this time period. They have never acknowledged nor responded to this second letter. I chased it at the end of January, resending them everything and very politely asking for a response to the letter of the 3rd December. Three days later a letter arrived from them, It was a photocopy of the original response they sent in November after the initial complaint. Nothing else. No reference to any of my subsequent letters. This got my back up, so today I have typed an angry letter and popped that off Special delivery also.
Then a really weird thing happened, or at least I think its weird. Last August Mr PG was flying Ryan Air for work and he purchased a couple of drinks and some pringles mid flight. The total cost came to £15 ish . Must add he usually takes his own snacks and drinks but he had hopped off one flight and caught another so wasn't very well prepared . He had no cash so paid with the debit card. The till roll ran out after authorising the card so they could not give him a receipt of the transaction. Later into the flight the stewardess appeared by the seat and told him he would need to pay again. They insisted that as the till roll had run out the transaction would not have been authorised, and had been voided, although they couldnt prove it. Mr PG refused to pay and an in flight drama began and Mr PGs chair became surrounded by angry Ryanair bods insisting he hadnt paid. Mr PG was furious, and also embarrassed as from what I understand it got quite heated so the other passengers were aware that as far as Ryanair were concerned Mr PG wouldn't pay for his goodies. In the end he paid again. When he returned and we checked the statement we had been billed twice, so I immediately wrote to them demanding a refund of one of the transactions and included copies of the statement etc. We never heard a word from them and I must admit to forgetting about it in the grand scheme of things. BUT .......today I decided I would chase them up as I was in my letter writing mood. They had never acknowledged receipt of the letter at all. So I set about finding all the original bits and bobs, wrote another letter. walked downstairs to add to the pile heading for the Post Office to see the Mr Postie had been. On opening the pile of letters, guess what was there ? A refund cheque for £15.79 from Ryanair and a very curt. Here is your £15.79 for overpayment type letter !!
I thought it was really kind of spooky as I had written to them 6 months ago, not heard a work and then on the exact day I remember it and decide to chase it, a refund cheque pops on the doormat. I am tempted to write back and say I want compensation for the embarrassment caused to Mr PG and compensation for taking so blinking long to respond !!What do you think ?!! :rotfl:LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Can I suggest mrs pg, that if you have any further hassle from THEM, that you contact a local MP? They are public sector and supposed to be accountable and to treat everyone with equity. You're doing your best to play ball in difficult circumstances and they should respect this. Let someone, your mp, who is paid to take the hassle, deal with this on your behalf. There's no harm in asking for compensation from Ryanair. I'd do it. Whilst you're at it you could start the ball rolling on the endowment claim.....:whistle:Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Oh Shelski, I am so very sorry to hear that. I will PM you rather than post on the diary I think.
You are correct of course and as you rightly suggest it sometimes takes illness, trauma etc to make you sit up and realise.
So lovely to see you here, please take good care of yourself . Love and hugs xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Its getting late and I haven't stopped yet this evening, so luckily for you all I wont bore you all with a mammoth post a la last night !!
Productive day though, although DD! was far to poorly to go to school, which now means she missed one of her Mocks Exams. Meeting with school lasted a couple of hours ( I had alot to day !) but I feel was productive . I then received a call this evening with an update, so hopefully they will now be getting a plan of action in place for her, to prioritise her workload and kick a few subject teachers into touch. I will be keeping my beady eye on them, but when I walk in with four A4 pages of notes, I think he realised we meant business ! Mr PG managed to come with me which was great despite it meaning he only managing two hours sleep between jobs. He is working all through the night again this evening, it will be the fourth on the trot .Tomorrow though , he will only have a three hour gap before starting another job, so will catch a few hours sleep in the car before he starts the next job ,which finishes at midnight tomorrow so will be quite exhausted. Im not sure how he does it.
Otherwise, work was busy today which is good and the invoices are being paid , so all great news there.:D
Managed to squish in a visit to my mum today as well , DD2 made dinner , Calzones no less, and she even made a special one for DD1 without the mushroomsMr PG has named the current plan of action "Operation DD1" so everyone appears to be rallying around her. She will become very spoilt !
Hope you have all had a good day and I will catch up tomorrow xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Thats an excellent suggestion , thankyou.
There is one slight hiccup there though, in the fact that many many moons ago our local MP ( who wasn't our local MP then, just some random man who happened to take the same train home as me from work in the evenings) happened to pick me up when I fell drunkenly out of the train carriage after a boozy night out in London. He hauled me to my feet , put me in a cab and paid the driver to take me home. Clearly I wasn't that drunk to remember his face, or my address. I actually think my heel got stuck as I climbed out of the train rather than me being too drunk to stand up ( that's my story and Im sticking to it );)
Anyhow, some 20 years later, I came across him at the opening of the Primary School wishing well, DD1 had the honour of cutting the ribbon. He looked straight at me and I swear he instantly recognised me. I have avoided any type of MP ish meeting or anywhere he may appear every since !!
But........... if I get desperate and THEY really wont leave us alone, I will consider your advise very seriously ! xxx Thankyou xxxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Hey Alex, how are you doing ?
I was just about to log off then spotted you had posted.
We have claimed everything that we can I'm afraid. We are playing catch up with the tax bill after a non payment a few years ago for a large sum of money. We were unable to pay that years bill and have been playing catch up ever since. As fast as we finally get the previous years bill paid, the next one is due.
Cest La Vie, we are paying and THEY are more lenient than they used to be years ago , so I Cant grumble.Well actually I can ! Once Upon a Life they used to frighten me into paying our bills by credit card when we found ourselves in a similar situation , hence the Pinot National Debt !!
We will get there by hook or by crook, just in time for the next bill no doubt ! xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !
