  • Just a thought PG. If DD2 has difficulty talking about things, perhaps you could get her to write down what's going on for her at the moment and how she's feeling. My DS2 has trouble expressing himself himself and writing it down really works for him.

Pleased to hear 2014 has started off positively work wise. Fingers crossed that payments start coming through soon.

    Take care. x

Thanks Mrs Fluffy, that is a good idea. She has been making lots of things, little collages with photos and things that mean alot to her. She sleeps with one of her Grandads shirts and sometimes when she feels sad she wears it, although I am not allowed to wash it ! She does chat but I think she brews on things for days and then it all comes spilling out in a big rush. If I am honest I think she needs somewhere special to go to say hello, leave some flowers and chat. I really think that would help her, but that has yet to be organized and although I have tried to broach the subject with others it didn't go down well. :(

I was then told that if I wanted to do something permanent, the bill would be sent in our direction.....................

I think you should prioritise this Pinot. You've been through such a lot recently and you are clearly still grieving for your dad. Your personal strength shines through in your post as usual, but everyone needs a little help sometimes and your wonderful hubby and girls need you to keep strong. Maybe have a word with your doctor? x

You are right Mrs H. Its been a bit of a problem for a while now if I'm honest. I think alot of it has been connected to the whole Debt Mountain but has been made worse recently. I am avoiding everyone. I even drove in and out of the supermarket four times trying to pluck up the courage to get out of the car incase I saw somebody I knew who then in turn asked me about what happened. I am so angry with myself as I have always been (well up until a few years ago when this mess all started) pretty sociable.

  • Happy New Year PG!!

I'm sorry that the festive season did not go as well as you hoped.

Well done on keeping on top of your main bills - you are doing so well with the unpredictable payment of money to you.

Just wondering why you think they will put a charge against the house?

If it is just a normal loan then I personally think not paying it and not making contact is more likely to lead to them applying for a CCJ and then a charge.
If you can make them an offer of payment which is realistic and affordable then they will be happy. It will also stop interest being added or if interest was added at the start they will remove interest so you owe less.

Even if they put a charge on your house and you don't make the required payments they still have to ask permission of the court to force a sale and when their are children under 18 in the house.
If you keep to the required payments then they very rarely grant it especially if you can show that you have been paying what you can afford. The main thing would be to not ignore any court letters.

The banks have also had their knuckles rapped recently over CCJs and charging orders as they have been persuing people for tiny amounts of money and with all the charges etc it is pushing people more in to debt.
If someone is making the reduced agreed payments then they are not really allowed to push for a charging order (whatever the size of the debt)

If you want any help give me a shout.

Thankyou EE, that's a huge help as usual. Really hope you are well.

I may send you a PM as soon as I get a chance if you dont mind.

We have been in regular contact with the bank and have put a proposed plan of action to them but I have yet to hear back. I have also made very small but regular monthly payments. They want to know when we will begin paying in full and how we will meet the arrears. they want as I&E and as with most of these organisation cant grasp thats it pretty difficult to tell them when our income differs form month to month and also that as much as for example as of today I can tell them what we are expected to earning February, whether it actually appears int he bank account on time is another matter. I have explained to them that any I&E is not set in stone but hypothetical, but they cant grasp that one !! They are making me angry as well as they are asking stupid questions, ie what happened to make us not pay. They have paperwork going back to 2010 with regard to this and a recent two page letter explainign the circumstances from august last year that has impacted everything. Grrr !!

When we started the DMP all organisations advised us that although unsecured ,due to the size of the loan there was a strong likelihood a charge would be put against the house. As we were in such a pickle, the thought of this this totally freaked me out . It was decided that the Loan would be paid from the business where we could just about meet those payments and not then included in the DMP, which I know isnt really the way to go but it worked for us. I am worried that if we do go down that route and include it, it will come to light that not everything was included in the DMP from the outset and may upset the apple cart with the the other Predators which I dont want as everything is bobbing along smoothly with them. If the loan is included on the DMP I think I would be about 120 before its paid off !!

Its a shame, as it was all working out nicely, but due to the last five months of expenses incurred and having to cut back on work so that Mr PG was here to look after the children for me at times, that's where things have now got into a pickle.

Had I known back in 2010 what we know now with regards to DMP, and debt in general I would never ever had agreed to the damn loan in the first place and just stuck everything on the DMP as separate amounts and dealt with it from there.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing !! xx

  • Right, now I have caught up a little on here and cleared my head after writing lists of all the things that have kept me from sleeping tonight, I am going to head back to bed for 45 mins, and try and sleep before the alarm goes off.

I really thought this whole insomnia thing had been kicked into touch a while ago now !! :o

  • Well after managing a grand total of one and half hours sleep I am attempting but without much success to get myself motivated for the day.

The upside of no sleep is that I did manage to do quite alot of work in the middle of the night, which has meant I now have the time to clean the bathrooms this morning which I should have done at the weekend, but didnt have time to !! The problem is despite drinking gallons of coffee for extra energy, I am so exhausted that the thought of this chore isn't very appealing, but needs must !

The weekend was lovely. The first in a long while that I have enjoyed. Mr PG finally managed a whole weekend off, Saturday and Sunday ! Whoopee !!! I just hope its not going to be the only one for the whole of 2014 .

The four of us went out together Friday night. A birthday present I had bought for the three of them last year (Mr PG and the girls birthdays are all close together ) We had a lovely evening and as it was all paid for at the beginning of last year it cost us nothing other than a drink and parking. Saturday began with a well deserved lie in which then slowly became a crazy day of mucking out. The Christmas decorations had been piled on the landing waiting for us to get them in the loft, but we discovered that they wouldnt fit back in, as the loft was in such a muddle. What then began was a seven hour clear out of the loft in order to get the decorations back in. It was a much needed clear out, one last done about 8 years ago and in the meantime I had been ramming more and more in there. We have taken some to the tip, some to the Charity shop and another lot is now up on ebay. I have another three sacks of clothes for ebay which although I doubt will sell for much, anything is better than nothing, so I need to find time to list those.

I made a vow over Christmas to get rid of a sack of rubbish a day as we are bursting at the seams. Not because we horde just due to lack of time really to sort things out. I haven't managed to stick to my sack a day but I am still doing well none the less !

DD1 went to the Movies Saturday night with her friends ( :j) The first time she has accepted an invitation to go out for a while and on Sunday she spent a couple of hours with a new admirer in amongst her tutoring and revision ! :rotfl:DD2 was off at a party and whilst I did all of the driving them around Mr PG got a nice dinner going in the slow cooker. We also visited family for a few hours and all in all it was a really lovely if busy weekend. I just wish we had more like this. Im sure this must be what relative normality must feel like !

Sadly I then didn't sleep, stressing about the forthcoming week and as usual the money, which is strange as we have had confirmation of three invoices being paid and cleared in the account by tomorrow, which as much as it will be very very tight I can make all the payments I need to including some more money to THEM and pay some arrears towards the mortgage. Think my head was just spinning so I wrote a nice long list to try and make it stop. It didnt work though !

Mr PG left for work at 5am and had a horrendous 3hour journey in due to an accident.

I am today chasing up some work for l ter in the year, and also trying to get the accounts in order as year end is fast approaching and I am a bit behind with the bookwork.

I am also toying with the idea of applying for another job to try and bring in a guaranteed wage each month , but I am unsure how I can fit one part time and one full time job into the week with an generally absent Mr PG, both the girls etc etc . Think this one will need some thought and lots of planning if it comes to fruition.I also need to drag some confidence from somewhere if I am to attend an interview as I havent had the pleasure of one of those in years !:o

For now though I am off to brandish the bleach and give the bathrooms a scrub although curling up and sleeping would be far preferable,I can barely keep my eyes open :(

Happy Monday to you all xxxx

  • Morning Mrs! Sorry to hear you're not sleeping again :( perhaps cut out the coffee today and then the caffeine won't be running rampant in your body by bedtime? (I don't drink coffee so that may be rubbish advice thought i'd share anyway :p)

If you have any girls clothes to list on fleabay please share links i'm on the look out for DD (although your DD's are much bigger than mine so may be wrong size )

I think another job on top of what you have already might be too much for you? Do you work full time at the one you already do and were planning on adding a part-time one or was it the other way round ? I'd hate to see you over-stretch yourself too far and make yourself ill.

The weekend sounded lovely and very normal ;) I hope you have many more to come :T I think top of your list today should be a sneaky siesta this afternoon xx
