This morning I have paid the Predators and some more money to THEM ! I am pleased to say that according to my newly improved signature we have now paid off just over £50K in the three years since we started the DMP ! I am hoping that my figures are correct, but for now I will relish in the pleasure of my new found £50K record and wont be bothering to double check !

Three years ago we owed a ball breaking £96K and it seemed like the end of the world, so for now, to be looking at these new numbers makes me very pleased indeed. I will give Mr PG a call shortly and let him know .

First though, I am off to do a little dance around the kitchen. DD1 is here, on study leave so may get her to join in with me !!:dance:

    Hello Mrs P.G. :)

Fantastic news - absolutely brilliant progress. You must be feeling very proud :);) !! I am delighted because you seemed to be a bit 'down' in the debt department when you came back after Christmas. I guess this was due to the re-emergence of disappeared predators?

You know all of this 'unenforcable' stuff that everybody talks about? I have never got around to asking for production of CCA's from my multiple predators and have mulled it over in my mind a few times but I keep on thinking 'what's the point?' As I see it, if there is no CCA the advantage is we can give that debt less priority as they can't have us in court. I suppose one could stick up two fingers and walk away. I don't think I would do that though and guess you wouldn't either. I had one small debt and when I rang them to set up a payment plan and they said it had nothing to do with them, I was happy to leave it be. Unfortunately they did come back and after telling them they were utter prats I forced them into a big discount and agreed an arrangement. :)

This may or may not be a good suggestion, I don't know if its your style but rather than getting stressed, ducking and diving with the phone, why not contact them yourselves (I know this is 'contact' so you may not want to) and blame them for not contacting you for three years or whatever. It doesn't matter if its a new DCA. Tell them (like I did) that you could have included them in your DMP three years ago but they were not contacting you so its their fault that they had no payments whilst everybody else has. Tell them how 'hurt and neglected' you feel :(!! Make sure they know it is a formal FCA-regulated complaint too.

Finally and importantly tell them it is completely inappropriate to come on to you three years down the line demanding full payment after such a long period of no contact and that you expect a significant discount AND an acceptable time to pay. If they are awkward, tell them you believe there is no CCA and they may come to heel very quickly

You know how you and I and lot of others have our debt figures on our signatures and we sort of live with those in our minds? Think how brill it would be if that £11k of 'unenforcable' were instantly £5k or £3k or whatever? The PG National Debt could in total be in the mid-twenties......fab :rotfl:!!!

Its unfinished business isn't it? It could be officially put away for good and I'll bet you would hardly notice a little bit of extra payment? If there's no CCA the power is with you (as if you didn't know :)!!)
