The question was:Chef1980uk wrote: »I've just received this months bill and they have changed it to Euro's which has added on around £22 extra. Is this allowed?
The question was not "how did they manage to do that?"
Further to my earlier answer, I would add that they are only allowed to do that if you had agreed to the first bill being in dollars and subsequent bills in Euros.
Extremely unlikely in my opinion.
OP, check your documentation for something silly like that, but my bet is they have made a mistake.0 -

so say they offer on their order pages USD, GBP, YEN, but their Paypal account is only set to Euros, then you will be allowed to chose USD, but the payment will actually be made in Euros.
It looks like their Paypal is set up only in Euros, and on their site they gave not set up currencies correctly with an auto updater, so all currencies are set up without any exchange rates, so all currencies display the same amount apart for the change of symbol. not a tech clitch, just the seller does not know his billing systemYou might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -
So now we have some idea of how it might have gone wrong. It just leaves OP to argue it was contracted in $, not €0

earthstorm wrote: »Exactly, unless their is something in the TOS saying they will actually be billed in €. But i dont know why a host would do that as it costs nothing to add extra currencies in Paypal and other payment providers, unless the host is constantly withdrawing his money to a bank account and set in € and does not want to pay all the conversion charge. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0

Cheers for the response. Here's the order page if it helps.

Even if this were in the T&C's, it is contracted in $, so it should be billed in € at the conversion rate on the day form the agreed $ amount0

they are using WHMCS, so get them to make sure they have their currencies set correctly as instructed here http://docs.whmcs.com/Currencies and they have the same currencies set in their Paypal account0 -
earthstorm wrote: »yes, but if the host has not configured his payment currencies setting correctly it wont give conversion rates, so only thing that will change is the symbol
OP contracted for a specific amount in US$, even if the exchange rates were all wrong. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -

OP
Do NOT do this. This is nothing to do with you or your situation (which I have been trying to say for a while...)
You need to check your original order confirmation, send this over to them if the currencies are correctly defined on that order confirmation and make a point of the problem with the invoice you have now received.
The configuration, usage and way they bill you is, as you are the consumer, nothing at all to do with you and certainly not your problem to address.0 -

So he does not tell the host, so guess what will happen at the next invoice. THE SAME THING.
my advice is correct so that his host can get the issue FIXED, so it does not repeat itself.0
