Good policing or just invasive?

Why would they refuse? It is the document which empowers Them as police, not the costume they wear.
I have had plenty of interactions with police, and they have never been offended to show when asked. Nor have they refused.
In fact it was advised to ask to see it as there was a number of incidents of uniforms being found in various locations.
You are free to act as you wish. I learned the law after my first arrest, turned out to be my last too.
So nothing to do with being locally appointed and sworn in then?0

And if they did? Only exercising the law, nothing wrong with that. Any professional constable would carry through his duties politely. If they can't handle someone using the law, they probably shouldn't be enforcing it. Your post was most useful...0

Whilst they are constables, under oath, regardless of the carriage of the warrant card. It is the ONLY evidence of this power.
Regardless, you behave as you wish. It does not affect me, and my actions shouldn't you. The point of living in such a society is that I'm free to do these things. You cannot stop me, you have no right.0

Same as you have no right to see a warrant card unless a plain clothes officers decides to search you.;)0

Only it's not that simple, is it? Peoples actions do affect others. Just saying "they shouldn't" does not excuse doing things that have bad effects - like winding up police so that they're not their usual smiling selves for the next person they have to deal with.
I'm guessing you also often use the phrase "I'm not being rude, but..." before being obviously rude :cool:0

Having just spoken to a constable regarding this, I asked if he would show his warrant card on request, his answer was 'always'.0

 I know.
Didn't say they were unlawful. My advice would have eliminated the attitude too.0

If the officer cannot deal with each situation on an individual basis he or she should not do the job. I'm exercising my rights, it's that simple.0

You're inflaming every situation you find yourself in with the police thanks to your poorly researched attempts at understanding the law, and your pointlessly obstructive attitude towards straightforward requests.
To be honest you don't come across as being all the way there mentally if you know what I mean.
I'd like to know what trouble you got yourself in with them to end up with this chip on the shoulder?0
