If you can get two weeks away, then go to the Far East for a far superior experience.0

As all flights I can find for this trip involve a stop at Los Angeles. Which adds a lot of time onto the journey- shame there does not seem to be a direct flight from vegas to hawaii.
IMHO Hawaii is overrated.
It's a Longgggggggggggg way from UK and takes nearly 24 hrs to get to from.
Stick to Vegas for your anniv+ birthday + no kids for a week.
Go to a show(s) get a cheap 5* hotel Venetian\palazzo [Look at the Vegas thread]
Do Hawaii when you're 60 :T and the kids pay for you to go :rotfl:0 -
Was seriously comtemlating Hawaii (along with Vegas) mainly for a bit of sunshine as well, but having serious doubts not due to the time with it being so far and travelling between Hawaii and Vegas.0

The hotels themselves are worthy of a couple of days of sightseeing alone in Vegas.
If you want outdoorsy stuff then you're within reach of the Grand Canyon, Red Rock Canyon, Death Valley - especially if you don't mind driving over there and are going to hire a car.0 -

Yes there's loads to see in the LV area, you can get a flight through/to the Grand Canyon in a small plane if short of time (as the OP is!) as it's quite a drive.0
