Yep looking at forewast sites it looks like Vegas will not be hot in January, but still does tick most boxes. As the birthday + anniversary is in January I will go then and not wait to the better weather etc.
I guess I will spend some time reading the Vegas thread.
On this matter - does anyone have any info on a trip to Hawaii, with a stopover to Vegas?? realise if I did this I would have to increase the length of holiday and trip cost.
Thanks0 -
A week in New Orleans is a good break
I was there over xmas & new year and although it was not t-shirt weather, I was fine with just a light jacket on, even in the evenings.
It is a great place for couples (no children) and more than enough going on to keep you entertained for a week.0 -

I have been to Vegas and Hawaii many times but I have never mixed the two . The flight times to and from Hawaii did not suit me out of Vegas.
To do the two destinations justice it needs a 3 week holiday and remember Hawaii is a very long way from Vegas 5-6 hours.
Save Hawaii for next time or take January off work .:D0 -

I do realise it will not be 20+ in Vegas in January-morelike 15 average. Been twice at that time of year.
Hawaii from UK witha stop over in Vegas is doable BUT not in a week!
Needs at least two, with three being optimal.
Did this a few years back. :cool:0 -

We stayed on Molokia which is a different word - nothing over 2 stories, no traffic lights on the whole island... (or at least that's what it was like when we were there about 15 years ago).0 -
If you are planning to go to South East Asia Countries, I will recommend Malaysia.0

Thanks for the replies..
So Hawaii/Vegas really is only an option for 2 weeks or over, which thinking about it we should or cannot leave the kids with family to look after for that long.
From the Asia countries....I guess the most appealing currently is Malaysia and weather should be good.
But with this being a 1 off without kids holiday, still slightly favouring Vegas. So if I am restricted to 1 week, just to make it extra extra special are there any other stop overs I should consider? I guess New York could be it, but obviously will be very cold.

I just remembered something about Vegas in early January. They have a gigantic computer and electronics convention that puts the price of hotels up to a ridiculous price. I just checked and it runs from 7-10 Jan 2014 and I noticed a bottom end strip hotel (Excalibur) went up from $29 on the 5th to $65 on the 6th and a wacking $219 over that weekend. The week before is New years day etc and prices are silly then too.0

Have been looking into extending the time and cost and then doing Hawaii and Vegas. However spent a long time looking into flights, and seems dificult. As all flights I can find for this trip involve a stop at Los Angeles. Which adds a lot of time onto the journey- shame there does not seem to be a direct flight from vegas to hawaii.0

Hawaiian Airlines have direct fights daily but paying for them can present a challenge.0
