Why don't you report them to the Credit Services Association anyway? They have just created a new Code of Practice and it would be good to drop the DC in it for some sort of breach!

In all contact, do not state who the driver was. Which PPC is alleged to have graced your vehicle with a fake PCN then, do you know?

  • Coupon can if I report them will this be anonymous or will my name come up when they are having their knuckles wrapped for breaching CSA terms?

Your name will come up, because the CSA pass your complaint back to the debt collector. On the form you fill in, downloadable from the CSA, you sign your permission that this will happen

If they mention you it will be along the lines of; Joe Bloggs told us you called him at work. You know that's not on so please don't do it again.

What do think will happen? Waking up on Xmas Day with a horses head in your bed and a note from Newlyn saying :xmassign: ?

I am going to report them because I do feel that I have a moral duty to stop these shysters from going about their business in this way. Unfortunately I am getting grief from the Mrs who's probably not expecting the horses head on the pillow.

But has vision of 2 burly bouncer looking type blokes knocking on the door and then steaming in and taking away the telly and anything else that they can lay their hands on. Up until now I've not really paid much notice of them but having someone ringing me at work is very underhand to say the least especially when it is against their associations good practices.

Just to put yours and Mrs H mind at rest, they can't and won't some round and nick your tele!

Court appointed bailiffs can, but that would mean a court case, a judgement against you and subsequent failure of you paying that order.

Please don't let the scare tactics these a***holes deliberately employ bully you into submission. Please do report them. If everyone just sat back and accepted situations, nothing would ever change. (Having said that we have gone from cowboy clampers to this, but at least this way you are mobile and not paying up front.)

PS.. Have you any details at all about what the parking incident was? Might be worth finding out in case you can rid yourself of it by the usual methods described on this forum.

The alleged offence happened back in March using a carpark with one of those cameras that clock you coming in and leaving the car park. I parked in the evening assuming that I did not need a ticket because I did not see adequate signage to tell me otherwise. I then 2 days later I received a parking notice.

I have a had a raft of letters from Roxburgh and Graham White solicitors et al all of which have been kept but ignored. Then recently I have a letter from Newlyns followed by this phone call.

ring me at my workplace due to an alleged parking invoice debt that I knew nothing about.

So you have more knowledge of what it's about than I first thought.
I'm not knowledgeable enough to offer advice with any confidence, but maybe trying to convince the PPC that you were unaware of any charge and try to get the whole scam started from scratch, all the more useful if someone else was driving. Then, appeal, POPLA etc.... (Unless it's a PPC that don't do court)

I'm sure someone with greater insight will be able to advise you far better though.

Hmmm...that's the wrong Newlyn, you have read irrelevant stuff about Newlyn bailiffs. Just like this poster did at first:

Newlyn are acting as debt collectors not bailiffs but even two burly bouncer type blokes can't come into your house and take anything if you don't let them or don't leave your doors or windows open.

However phoning you at work is way out of order, especially for an alleged debt. Remember there are a lot of jobs were bad debt can affect your employment.

Times must be bad if they are picking up Roxxy/White failed collections!:)
