Pressing refresh every second from 11:55 to 12 to watch the site go from "available to purchase at 12:00" to something else.0

You clearly don't know how the internet or browsers work, its nothing like redial on a phone (even that doesn't forget the number after you try 3 or 4 times). It might cache the page but you don't have to retype the address - in fact that has no impact on the cache. You just press Ctrl + F5 or Cmd + R on a Mac.0 -

Its very unlikely that caching would of been an issue.Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0

I am a java web developer, I know how data driven sites work...I build them. In fact a data driven site based on Java, JSF, PrimeFaces, Oracle and Spring Roo paid for my Xbox.
John Lewis told me this morning, they had no stock...hence the out of stock message. No mystery, no caching, no wires crossed....bad retail practice.
I got my money back, they admitted fault....the internet works as expected...

Further to the other answers, redial is unlikely to fail anyway.
Redial is a feature of your handset (it remembers the number you typed), so if it isn't working after 3 or 4 tries there's a fault in the handset.0 -
And there I was thinking this thread was going to be about how rabbits don't really give bears alarm clocks.0

Indy500, If you are so desperate for an XB1, then give CeX a try. My local store had a 'first day release' model in the window after a customer brought it in 5 minutes after they opened-up the store.
I have a gut feeling that there will be a huge number of 2nd-user XB1's flooding the marketplace once the purchasers realise they cannot sell-on the games they have grown tired of. Bit of an own goal from Microsoft methinks.Never Knowingly Understood.

Same rules as xbox 360 currently. You can loan/sell disc based games. They also have plans to make digital content available to loan/trade.
They originally had it so it would only work for the original owner, and that you had to log onto the internet once every 24 hours but they changed their minds after many people spoke out about it and said they'd buy a ps4 instead. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Thanks, wasn't aware they had backed-down & changed their minds over 2nd-hand games. That is the 2nd time in 12 months that Microsoft have actually reacted to user criticism & changed their products for the better.Never Knowingly Understood.
