What was the crop?
Bear in mind for every bit of crop wasted from the accident (anything directly damanged or affected by oil spills) even if it didn't look damaged to you has cost the farmer the seed and wholesale costs; he's paid to plant it and can't sell it.0 -

The area affected was only a few square metres, and the fence posts were half a metre high. There was no fencing, just the posts. What size posts? Oh we don't know. Postcrete is nearly a fiver a bag. Two posts to one bag so there's an extra tenner straightaway.
I don't doubt what you are saying but it is hard to put costs on something that hasn't been seen.
We do if we've been paying attention.

I take it you have no connection with agriculture or horticulture, don't live in the country, don't do any gardening, etc., etc.? Because you clearly haven't got the slightest clue about how to grow things. Either that or you are the Minister of Agriculture and I claim my £5!
You were right, I have no connection to agriculture. I'm a software engineer, my interests are on a computer
Still, I'll not say anything about crops again

Sure? But were they 2 inch square or 6 inch square? Makes a difference to the cost
Exactly. They could even be round. How far into the ground do they go?
Therefore, despite trying to be smart about it LandyAndy the fact is - we still don't know
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
