Daily Mags - what is happening?

I hate that this is upsetting people, it's no fun being Solomon
I'm having a sense of deja vu
2 yrs ago we went through a very similar discussion when people realised there were comps posted on the regs board that they had never seen
we had weeks and weeks of discussion and a poll by MSE Andrea,
the winning option in the poll was that people wanted ALL comps posted on the main board, it was actually a compromise to keep the regs board and the daily/weekly stickies, but a lot of comps were moved to the main board and only a few stayed in regs
so in essence having a mags thread with lots of comps not being posted separately was step back and that's why people have been complaining about missing out on comps again
of course looking at it logically, since we went back to a thread linking to threads on the main board, lot's of people seem unhappy with that, but that's because the people who are happy now aren't posting about it
if we did have a poll about this the result would be the same, post ALL comps on the main board and not in 'collection threads' and as this causes bickering on a fairly regular basis maybe the daily stickies wouldn't survive this time and we'd just have everything on one board
with 1000's of compers using the board, 100's of them having an opinion and dozens being vocal about it, it would be totally impossible to please everyone, so as a short term fixit so that everyone can concentrate on manically comping over december it's gone back to how it was, and I've got to say no one ever complained about the way it was, the only problem was the amount of updating the daily sticky needed, now that isn't a problem as there are 3 separate daily stickies
the main sticking point now seems to be that people have got used to having direct links to the mag dailies? Although no on has ever mentioned that as a problem using the regular daily sticky, for people that want direct links can't you just bookmark them? If doing that is such a major problem can't you just manage until after Xmas? when everyone will have the time to give an opinion and we'll all be more chilled too
edited to add: posting just 'big comps' on the main board seemed a problem in itself as no one persons idea of big would be the same, saying for eg all comps over £500 would cut out a lot of tablets/laptops that would be a life changer for a lot of peopleI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. This is exactly the problem Glad.
The reason CP changed to having direct links is because the daily mag comps changed. They used to come up as click to enter it then tick boxes to say no to offers & you had entered the comp.
Now you click to enter a comp & instead of having tick boxes you get a video of a ad played to you. This makes entering the comps a lot longer.
So CP added direct links to each comp so people could click to enter one & leave that window open running the ad & then click to the next one & so on.
Now because they link back to the main board you have to click to enter which brings you to the forum (which is another window open) then click to enter the comp before closing the first extra window before doing it all again
What about just until the xmas rush is over re opening CP's mag thread & keep the new mag thread as it is now, so the comps will be added to the main board but for people like myself that won't have time to go through so many clicks can use CP's thread?

Glad thank you for your reply. With respect, I think that there is a key point still being missed here.
Nobody at all, to my knowledge, has ever complained about the links on the mags thread going direct to the comps. This has no impact on them also being posted on the main board, but it is an absolutely huge time saver for those of us who do 200-300 mag dailies every day. Bookmarking is not the same as you lose the benefit of having the answer as you click.
In an earlier post you explained that your plan was for those of us who like the mags thread to have one very similar to CPs. What we now have is actually fundamentally different. Had I realised when you posted this that you meant for a return to posting links to other threads, I would have raised it as an issue then. The fact that nobody raised it as an issue before the change but many of us have since shows that there was widespread misunderstanding here.
Those that wanted the mag comps on the main board now have them there, which is great. It would be a faor compromise if those of us who liked CPs thread could at least have the new thread in the same format.
There was absolutely no reason at all to stop posting the direct links, and it would be a very minor change affecting only JDP to restore them now. Those already posted as links to threads could, of course, stay as they are, with direct links again posted for new comps. Please could I respectfully ask that you reconsider on this point as soon as possible, as we have very much thrown the baby out with the bathwater as things stand.0 -
Or do what I do and bypass MSE altogether and just bookmark the prize draw page on each magazine and work through it each day.0

The trouble with that is that you don't have the answers, and some of us have heads like sieves, and I understand that the big cash comps, which started this whole thing, don't appear in the lists on the mag sites.0 -

Most answers are in the text or are simple. For the tougher ones I just Google them and I still manage to get them done faster than using the MSE links.
If the big cash ones are not in the lists, where are they?0 -

I don't know, that's why I stick to using MSE so I don't miss any!
This line of argiment would make perfect sense were there not a brilliant way of posting them on here which has been used without problems for many months, now dropped for no reason at all but could be restored in a moment with no impact on anything else!
As Luckyone said, with the Advents coming up, every moment is precious and this is the worst time of year to ditch a system that saves so much time.0 -

The comps were listed on the magazine website, but you needed to buy the magazine to find the answer.
Fire**fly buys the magazine so told us the answer which you would not have if you comped directly from the magazineThis Post Has Been Sponsored ByChocolate0 -
