Of course you are but stop keep getting at me or anyone that has differing views,If you can't see that then that's up to you.
Expressing differing views is fine but there is a big difference between expressing views and you deciding what is a big prize competition and how it should be posted.0 -
The forum team allowed the previous thread as it was in the forum interest, in that thread people said they would like the bigger comps to be seen on the board, it was discussed on the end of that thread. When the fridge comp was spotted as it was over a grand I posted it.#JusticeForGrenfell0

It would be great if an MSE'r won one of the big prizes, we've popped it back to the main board for the moment.
AndreaIn the interests of compromise, how about leaving the general pattern of posting mag dailies as now, perhaps with a more tabloid headline as I suggested earlier, but posting the very occasional "specials" on the main board as well as in the dailies. I don't think that this would be a huge amount of extra work, and the posts for the "specials" could contain a link to the main mag daily thread as a further help for people discovering it.
The only question may be what constitutes a "special". Prize worth £1000 or more?I think that's a very sensible idea.
I too love the mag daily thread the way it is; it took me some time to get used to it, but now I have, it's part of my daily routine. I don't feel that the competitions on there are "hidden away" in any way, any more so than I do the puzzle magazine competitions in their own thread. They are clearly visible in a sticky at the top of the page, and if people choose not to use it then that's up to them - much the same as I don't use the standard daily thread (too many rafflecopters!), nor the weekly or postal / text threads.
I totally agree with the posters who have said it would be a step backwards to post every mag daily competition on to the main board - not to mention how annoying it would be to look at the board, clogged up with seven individual posts for each competition that run concurrently on the mags.
However I think there is something to be said for rugmaker's "compromise" suggestion of posting on the main board the big prizes that, for some reason, aren't visible in the magazine's lists of prize draws. That way, nobody would miss out on them, and it wouldn't be too much extra work to post them.
So, should we agree, in the event that this type of prize crops up again, where it's not in the main list of prize draws and people may miss out, that an exception should be made and it should go on to the main board?
That's it for me, I need to get on with my stuff.#JusticeForGrenfell0 -
Discussion forums are for discussions...
One person gives an opinion others agree or disagree that's what forums are for, you are never ever going to get everyone to agree with you
You give an opinion then I give an opinion then Joe Bloggs gives an opinion if we do not agree with you it does not mean we are being rude/abusive, I quite like when folks give a different opinion to mine if you can be open minded about it, and see both sides you can learn more.
What I don't like is folks pulling the "sympathy" card if you did not want to hear other peoples opinions then you should have kept yours to yourself in the first place
I am sorry if that sounds harsh but in reality it is life!!!

Despite knowing the posting format you choose to disrupt the forum, the forum team (most who don't use the comping section) would really have no idea about it and of course you only need one BG with you.0 -

Toni you did a good thing in raising this issue. There is general agreement that the mags dailies should be on the main board and you can take credit for getting that done.
What many of us are very upset about is that the old mags thread could have continued unchanged as well as putting the comps on the main board, but it has been closed and replaced with something harder to use. THAT IS NOT YOUR FAULT AND NOBODY IS BLAMING YOU FOR THAT.
We can just see a solution that would suit everybody and no one (eg board guides) will tell us why it is not possible.0 -

Of course you did, you knew the posting format and choose to disregard it, that's disrupting the forum.
I don't disagree that they could be posted differently but that should have been an issue raised in chat corner and if it had been perhaps all this nonsense would have been avoided.0 -
Would the solution not be...
If folks wanted to do rafflecopter/daily mags comps then they click the thread where these are (were) posted

I agree with rugmaker.
I don't think there was anything wrong with toniq posting some comps on the main board, as it highlighted the fact that some people were not aware of the thread, despite it being a sticky. I only discovered it a few weeks ago by accident myself. I think this showed something needed changing, to optimise things. I'm not sure why this resulted in the mag dailies thread being closed though.
The problem has been that there's been a sequence of events where there's been some decisions made that seem (to me) to be heavy-handed, on the basis of a few vocal posters. Perhaps those views represent the majority on here, perhaps not. A vote would have been a more democratic way to resolve this.
It's also really sad to see that this discussion has descended into what it has (in parts), as one of the nicest things about the comps board here is that it's generally friendlier than the rest of the forum.
It's good of jambo to take on the new thread, and although I'd personally prefer not to have all the individual comps cluttering up the main board, I don't think it's a big problem. But it's a shame the links on the thread now take you to the posts on the main board rather than directly to the website, because it slows the whole thing down loads, and I'm sure what everyone wants is to get through as many comps as they can, as quickly as possible! I know you can favourite the sites, but then you don't get the benefit of the answers. I don't know why this aspect has changed - it doesn't seem related to the original issue of comps not being posted on the main board.
What I'd like to see is a return to the old system on the thread, so it's quick for those that want to enter them daily, whilst also seeing them posted on the main board for those that don't want to use the thread and only want to enter once. Everyone's happy then, surely?
I suggested a few pages back that rather than individual threads on the main board, there was one new thread a day with all the new prizes detailed and a link to the dailies thread, and I still think this would be the optimum way to work it. But I can live with individual threads, if they are labelled as mag dailies (which they mostly have been, so far).0
