Hi QOC, your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and will not be for nothing.
Perhaps the best way to decide this, is to ask the family.
If I remember correctly Frequent was it you who made the suggestion for a floral tribute and the word Elite?
Or did I imagine it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -

I thought it was frequent who made the original suggestion.
I am happy to go with whatever you all decide, but I do think that the word elite would look good ( if you can call it that) as it has more than One meaning iyswim?0 -

Has anyone bought this?
I can confirm this from today - though it didn't trigger the meal deal.
Hope is not a strategy.0 -

These are not just any models - they are Elite models :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Sounds like a good advertising slogan.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
afternoon all
im sorry the flower and charity collection seems to be causing some upset.
i hope this can be resolved without anyone falling out that is not what mad would have wanted
from my point of view which im not entitled to make i know as i havent donated to the flowers, Elite sums up what mad was as well as where his chosen home on the board was. if the tribute read MSE there is the danger this could look like some kind of advertising from the site and may cause upset for the family as well as issues for martin if the tribute ended up being photographed and posted anywhere beyond the control of those who donated to it.
as an explanation another board i use on here tragically lost a much loved member to the same cruel illness so i am going into the local cancer research shop at the weekend and making a donation there in memory of both of them.
i dont wish to add fuel to any disagreement but this is perhaps a view point that those emotionally closer may not have consideredSPC~12 ot 124

Afternoon all, all caught up now. In respect to the donation for flowers which QofC has so kindly organised, I personally think ELITE would be best as originally planned, but have no objection to MSE or MAD (if family agreed), as long as it is is used for the purpose intented, flowers, with balance to hospice. Thank you QofC for your effortsNice quick catchup:) whilst having brekkie and got a message from my Dsis Auntielala to say she had her checkup at the hospital yesterday after her Mastectomy last year and has been given the all clear again and does not go back for 6 months :j:j:j
Need to get to see DDLala and get this picture taken for the Calender
Enjoy your day and hope you get lots of wine and try and stay warm:)
Fantastic news Nanny :j :jSpiralingDown wrote: »Hi frequent
Well, he's onto his second door :rotfl: I got a free 2nd hand solid wood one so should take him a year or so to get it into the condition of the other one
he's not a happy puppy at this!
For the moment he's staying with me, I was told by both rescue and pound that he would more than likely be PTS (he really doesn't like men and went for one of them) and I'd rather put up with the chaos and mess than that happen to him.
He's learning new tricks and understands the word 'toilet' and runs to the kitchen door to be let out, the other dog just looks at me! He is still an attention hog but we compromise by having a duvet at my feet so he's close but not sitting on top of me.
Great to here from you again SD, I have thought of you often, and the Beast of course :AThrifty_Sister wrote: »I totally agree QoC that money donated for a floral tribute should be used for that and whatever is leftover be sent to the hospice. I don't think many would argue with that and as most of that money has come from Elite members that is what has been decided and the decision adhered to.
Again, as most of that money has been raised by Elite members they should have the decision over the wording used. I personally like Elite or Mad. I fully understand that other people viewpoint may be different but this was Mads chosen posting place and several members supported him over recent difficult times.
Regarding various different viewpoints on the chosen JustGiving charity - Cancer Research. Some people have expressed a difference of opinion. The money has primarily been donated in memory of Madmuppet. But also for everyone that has lost a loved one to this terrible disease and if this money goes in small way to this end, Mad would be so proud and pleased.
I am aware that some people have chosen not to donate to either the JustGiving charity fund or the floral tribute. Which is fine.
But the way the Elite has come together in various different ways would have made Mad chuffed to bits
And just also to say that Mads family do know about his forum name
If this large donation can go in any way to finding a way to defeat this horrible disease, which has affected so many of our lives, then it would be a fitting tribute to Mad

Does anyone know how long Asda takes to take money from bank account .
I did a c/c Monday and still waiting for them to take money out.
Am only interested as the total payable on bottom of receipt is a fraction of what it should have been , about 10% so have been checking online bank quite regularly.0 -
Ooops sorry for continuing the Chinese whispers about Aau's birthday. That was your fault nerfy!

And also my fault for not remembering how recent it actually was :rotfl:
Thank you for organising QOC. We do appreciate it. Whatever the wording no time has been wasted here as it's all for Mad :A
Personally I have no preference whatsoever. Whatever we do will show he had friends and was loved.Debt free 6th December 2014
