if its coming from the sides of the velux window then there are flashing which can get damaged or not have been fitted properly check these first .if this is the case then your problem is as they say nothing to do with them

It all depends wether warmroof fitted the velux window as i know that they try and sell you them aswell as doing the insulation system my personal opinion of them is they are a rip off i work for a small company spraying polyurethane foam and warmroof have given the industry a bad name we did some sub contracting for them and the things they did was just not right, like telling the workers to sit in peoples lofts for most of the day doing nothing to justify paying the min charge of £2000 it will be there or there abouts as they dont do a job for much less.what you have to remember with the foam system on a roof is that if the roof is already leaking it will still leak as the foam acts like a sponge it will hold it back for a while but it will eventually creep through as a lot of the companies say it will stop leaks it doesnt it will for a while but it will come through eventually.

I think the system has a big draw- back and that is, how can you check the condition of the rafters, battens, felt etc. When I have seen it the foam is sprayed on the underside of the rafter and thus it encloses a large part of the roof timbers, how can you see if they are rotten? or have woodworm.I think there could be a danger in complete roof failure .
How can a surveyor check the condition of the roof when most of it is encased in foam?... Some surveyors do actually go into the attic..lol:D

    Just my opinion of coarse..

Wouldn't the same be true if you had a loft conversion - no access to inspect the timbers

Personally, I wouldn't have this system on my roof

Depends on the way its been converted, a lot of loft conversions the ashlar walls are used as cupboards , thus the insulation is in the ashlars but you can still see the rafters to the eaves.

The front of the rafters should be left clear when the roof is sprayed so you can still see the wood to inspect it as wood has to breathe otherwise it will rot, yes i admit that they might catch it a bit but not to the extent of completely sealing the wood, a lot of the time they dont spray it onto the felt they will cut the felt away if wanted as a tile bond.

I think Warmroof may have gone into adminstration. I know their sister company Solar Home Energy has definitely gone. I feel sorry for all the customers who paid out in good faith.

  • Warmroof Systems ARRH bullies and robbing amateurs yes they stung me fitted Velux window and light tunnel, spray foam stuff too... wrecked my roof now it has been leaking all over since (over a year). Insurance would not pay so I had to get it fixed cost another 1500 but still leaking as it is hard to find due to foam stuck to felt. Surveyor report said needs full new roof..it cost me a total £12000 and apart from the 1500 deposit demanded from them and another 600 cash for the scaffold they forgot to include. I am lumbered with GE money loan buy now pay later which started Feb and I cant afford to pay now. Insurance have put legal insurance solicitors on case but I ran the head office of Warmroof yesterday and got recorded message saying Warmroof is now in administration so looks like I am stung good and proper. Does anyone know of anything I can do or if the deposit wasn paid on debit or credit card are they liable? They did so much damage to my ceilings and gutters when they insulated I called them back loads of times and they kept sending roofers instead of plasters etc.... I have had enough dont trust these firms I only did it because I could pay later and thought it would be good for the HIP thing cant even sell house til sorted .... Any ideas?????

Aren’t the finance company jointly liable with the now defunct Warmroof? It’s probably a good thing they’ve gone bust as a report from your surveyor will probably win the case as warmroof are not around to argue and delay matters.
