My attention span for present wrapping is low. But I managed to wrap pip's, so I count that as a win.
Had my first ever trip to the barbers today 😎. Pip called 'em up to check they accepted walk-ins, which they did, and came down to announce that he was getting dressed and wanted to go there. So off we trotted and pip is super happy with the result. And especially with the lack of required small talk.

guess what? The shingles is now clearing up nicely - or as nicely as shingles ever plays. But the side/kidney pain and super sensitive skin around that side has returned. Sigh. DH wanted me to call the dr today, but I'm waiting to see if drinking lots and lots eases it up. I'm not averse to visiting the dr, so will call tomorrow if necessary.
Pip has done day #2 of revision - well done him! And is out tonight bowling with friends - courtesy of mother the chauffeur!

Glad the shingles is clearing.  And result on the barber.  My mum used to visit a barber who at first was put out saying he didn't do women's hair.  She pointed out he could see and wield clippers and scissors and that was good enough. She was delighted with the result (he gave in) and the price and went back regularly.  She too said a joy was not the usual waffle at the saloon chair.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
  • I am the proud owner of a 7 day course of antibiotics. It should've been just 3 but I requested 7 given that Christmas is nearly here, and the Dr agreed. I also have the emergency Dr number.
This will take me to about 4 weeks of pills - a personal record and one that I don't ever want to beat!
Presents are wrapped and under the spindly tree. Pip brought some of his back upstairs, to save them for his birthday next month 😂

Pip and I have been and bought our Christmas magazines. And one for DH too. Then we paid a visit to my fave Ch shop and for £11 I got: jumper for dh, shirt for DH, l/s top for me, lycra legs for me, lycra legs in a smaller size which have one of those pockets on the side of the leg also for me, 2 pillowcases, a Cmas ornament and a cross stitch kit that has a fab design of a polar bear in a cmas jumper.
Pip's had horrid cramps today, so no revision done.
The antibiotics are working, whoop whoop!
I confess that I bought four bags of liddle's 15p potatoes. I baked 12 of the largest ones this morning and the others are stored in a cloth bag. DH was muttering about the quantity, yet he doesn't comment when I bring home one of the super huge sacks of potatoes... Fickle 😂.

Keep an empty sack, decant new 15p spuds into it, exclaim loudly how much longer a sack lasts than buying smaller packs, keep refilling with 15p spuds.

    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

  • I finished my wrapping this evening, but gave myself a head start by putting most of my brother's (food items) in a large gift bag together, and wrapped up 4 books for my Dad into two packages :D
