I got an immediate email apology. But not yet heard whether I do the Tues duty or the Fri one. Not surprised! Sigh.

I picked up my new specs today - I got 2 very different styles. There's been a fair change in one eye, so I might wait until the weekend to change to them.

I also picked up a couple of pairs of climbing shoes in a ch shop. They're the wrong size for pip, but have the tags on them and only cost me £6. I'm going to try selling them on! If I can do that, then pip will feel like we have some money coming in (poor thing - I pointed out that now that I'm working one day less, we need to be a bit more careful. [pip does not - and never will - know about the fees increase] And they've interpreted it as 'we don't have any spare money at all'.)

It is a grey old day today. We have talked about using the heating - pip is constantly so cold (dh's poor circulation genes) and 30 mins in the morning would be nice for them and warm their clothes up.

Whoop! Go me! Just sent a 2-line email asking why we're now paying approx £765 pcm extra in fees. Only been procrastinating about it for monnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnths.

Pip has a drama trip to a theatre tomorrow. So many issues. Timing. Travelling on public transport. Food. Noise. Travelling back in the dark. Late change of departure time. Carrying their bags with them (including the device they have to take in each day). Missed lessons. Subsequent catching up of work. I'd like them not to go, but it is a requirement of the course that they see and analyse live theatre. The knock-on effect if they go will be massive. Sigh.

And they are still up-just heard them go to the bathroom!

Pip did go in to school for lesson 3. I am so proud of them ❤️. They should be currently travelling back from the theatre. I have already told them that I'm not expecting them to go in tomorrow until lesson 3. (1 is PE, 2 is pshe).

I went to the gym while they were still sleeping this morning and did a zshred.

Dh has hurt his back, probably by breathing wrong 😂😂😂, so is hobbling around like a 90 year old...

I have finished making a couple of knitted owls and sent them to bil for his bday.

Dh keeps telling me about specific price increases. Today it was butter and juice.

I started thinking about 'what 10 foods' would you choose if you could only have 10?'  Almost immediately I amended it to 'all f+v is included'! Not sure whether to also include starches like rice, or pulses... Almonds, 85% choc, eggs, cheese, olive oil, peanut butter, tuna, bacon, chicken... So far I've those 9. If I were veggie with a nut allergy, I'd only have olive oil and chocolate to eat!!!

Hmmm, just had a text from pip. They've still an hour of travel left. Poor mite will be so hungry!

just checked my pay - 'only' 382 down from before. Not as low as I'd feared.
