apple_muncher said:Dc/ pip (love it!!) has had up and down days. And portions of days. One small bit of socialising with just one person for a short time wipes them out for over a day. No idea how we'll cope with school...2023: the year I get to buy a car2

Another yikes! Feeling a little bit overwhelmed, so here goes a brain dump:Today is Thursday and I go back to work on Tues as an extra day (CPD and not easy to catch up on,so simpler just to go in), so will have 3 consecutive days. Hopefully new teacher will be there on Tues, so I'll need to sort out admin, email, passwords for her. Dc starts back on my 3rd day, so they'll have 2 days just with dh. I still have a fair amount of prep to do. Including some training for A level marking which needs several hours straight. Big sis and niece arrive for 24 hours on Sun afternoon. Dc is bouldering sun morn, but there's no church (phew). Mon morn, dc has an optician's appointment. The hairdresser is due any minute now. Dc if off ice skating later so some ferrying around to do.Next door's washing machine is bust so we're doing their washing and their old doggy keeps peeing on the sofa, on the dog bed covers, everywhere but outside it seems. So plenty to wash!Having written that down, it's not so bad. It does cover 5 days. But condenses into just a few hours in my head!!!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

Good grief! I'm not really surprised you needed to write all that lot down. You're good at combining things you need to do, but it sounds a lot to me. Take care2023: the year I get to buy a car3

You're very welcome
and how wonderful to hear that the training is actually useful, that's so rare in my experience. Really good.
Like you, I had a mid-late afternoon walk to see people's lights - I went out at 4, it was excellent. Rainy, though2023: the year I get to buy a car2 -
Dc is having a duvet day. But isn't miserable about it. Just as well, as they're not fit for getting up!I took myself to the gym and to liddle ( dc reckons I might just be ever so slightly addicted...!). Then to spocksavers as a nosepad fell off overnight. He also tightened the arms. Yay! The Sally Army took 2 bags from me and I finally paid in some money to dc's n'wide account.I realized that the exercise leggings I was wearing were really not suitable to be seen in public... Loops. Not their fault at all; more the fault of the legs beneath them...I'm enjoying the WSM build up, even though I know the results.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

Happy New Year!Part of me thinks that I should have some deep and meaningful comments about the year just finished or the year ahead. Nope. Nothing there... Nowt. Zilch. Not doing deep and meaningful. I could have a string of goals, aims, dreams, plans... But I think I just want to get through it, starting with dc's assessment in just over 2 weeks. And cope with work and another new teacher. And the exam classes. And mum is starting to deteriorate more. And have dc attending school. And I still have those flippin' 3 solid consecutive days of work next week. And the CPD day's unpaid. And did I do anything useful for work today, that would reduce the stress building up? Nope. D'oh. Didn't sort out the printouts for 2 years groups. Didn't plan the remaining group. Didn't touch the online training. Instead I finished 3 minions and 2 Santa's. (Eyes, mouths, legs, arms, pompoms, stuffing...) And watched Encanto. Which was lovely.Tomorrow I'm taking dc bouldering early on and will take my laptop. There's free wifi in the place so I can either do my planning, or do the online training.Big sis + niece arrive in time for a late lunch, but I'll have a couple of hours between getting back from bouldering and them arriving. You ever know, I might do something useful then...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

I finished the online training while dc bouldered away. And downloaded all the resources with it, so can easily refer back to them. We're now enjoying the WSM final. So I guess that counts as' useful'.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

I really am not ready to return to work tomorrow.Had an ugh night's sleep and with niece sleeping in the study and big sis on the sofa, there is nowhere to go to be on my own (well, there is the downstairs loo, but that is out of bounds as it contains next door's bags of threadworm infested (possibly) washing). Both dh and I were up several times in the night. I heard and had a little adrenaline jolt every time niece coughed. Neighbours on both sides were quite noisy. Dc was up in the early hours for a while so I was twitching as I waited to hear them go back to their room. Around 11, I realized I'd not taken my St JW tablet so my heart decided to rush around in my chest as I weighed up whether I could go and get it or whether I should wait until the morning. (Waiting won as big sis had turned off the lights and I didn't want to disturb her). I woke at 6.11 which would have been an ideal time to go to the gym, but I'd already decided to go later on.So, all in all, I'm feeling very sorry for myself. And today, dc has an eye appointment. There was talk of combining it with looking for clothes. But I think that gives dc too many decisions to make and will exhaust them, as well as maybe having to choose new frames and being around so many people. I did go in to see how dc was at 7.30, as they said to wake them then. But they need at least another hour.Another thing! Dc wants to take a friend ice skating for their bday, but wants to go with us first so as to practice, as friend is pretty good. Given that their bday skating is in 2 weeks, and I'm back at work tomorrow, dc is back on Thurs, bouldering and dance happen on a Sat, ch on a Sun usually...that leaves a super narrow margin... Anyhow, my wonderful dh (with a little prompting) looked up where to go and has booked him and dc for a session on Tues. Which is fab. (But now means I'm going to work on the bus, so leaving about 6.30 and getting home around 6.15.)And now pupils have to wear masks in the classroom. I am so upset by this.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5
