I bought a new mattress today 😀. Very happy as I needed a parking spot and got one right outside st Christopher's. And they had had some more mattresses delivered just yesterday. So I bought one and it fitted in my little car. I didn't go for the super cheapy lumpy one, but one that's much comfier instead. Even an occasional mattress shouldn't be lumpy.

DC did not go to school today. Too complex to go into here. But this evening, dh did say to me that it had been the right decision. That he's seen that when he tries to make dc do something, they refuse. And that actually, doing what he wants them to do isn't really the best thing for them. Progress.

I wore my cmas jumper to work today, as I'm not there tomorrow for the official jumper day. It's an elf one with a big hood and jingly bell. So I could be heard from afar! So many kids told me they liked my jumper, which was lovely.

Hmm, I am in school tomorrow. It's the fair! Yikes. Originally I was going to use tomorrow morning to get the final bits ready. But now, it's been commandeered for bed dismantling followed by bed assembling. Better wander off and check a few things...

We have dismantled one bed and assembled two. Ooph. I'm not much use, with my manky hands, but I directed and helped where I could ( I was chief screw sorter...) and we both reckon that if we were doing it alone, DC would be lucky to have even one bed tonight!

I'm now munching some lunch before a quick 10 min blitz to try to tidy downstairs a bit... Then the washed elf jumper goes back on and I hit the road.

Ooph. My school fair was fab. I'd expected it to be much more manic, but it was lovely and calm instead. I had a pretty fab time and sold plenty of stuff. One girl told me my stall was her favourite. Awww.

So I rushed home afterwards, and had a 40 min turn around, including eating my tea, before heading out with dc+ friend to drop them at youth.

I'm now sat in the foyer, trying to relax a bit. The book about autism isn't doing it for me tonight so I've opened a big bag of popcorn and will mooch online. I am well tired, so hope to sleep well...

Today needs to be an R & R day for all of us.

DC's friend is being picked up at about 9 as they have a club. I'm rather glad well have the house back so early on! Dc has dance this afternoon, which I'm not sure we'll get to... Depends how much sleep they got and how much having company has drained them.

There are about 5 loads of laundry needing doing.

I need to get to the gym. And to liddle (forgot about the voucher, d'oh).

My fair stuff needs a sort through with a discard of persistently non-selling items and a streamline of the rest. And maybe a list of a few items to make...

Dc has 3 more days; I finish a day later but also have 3 more work days; dh has 5.

Mum's home is closed for 4 weeks, covid stuff, so none of the residents will see family for cmas. V sad.

Would like to go through the presents I have and maybe do some wrapping. Big sis is visiting next weekend, so no need to post stuff unless travelling gets banned... Or she gets I'll...

We have confirmed the initial talk/assessment with the clin psych on Friday. Yay to cancellations!

Today we'll rearrange downstairs and get the tree in and decorate for cmas.

We didn't make dance. Not surprised. DC has their friend's party tomorrow and needs to be fit for that.

2 full loads of laundry have been washed and need drying before I do any more.

I got to liddle and the gym. Got 2 f+v boxes today 😊.

The craft stuff has been streamlined and many bunnies are no more. They have been disemboweled (their stuffing is good for needle felting) and gone into fabric recyc.

Yesterday, one of the mum's on the PTA asked if I ran craft classes. Well, I don't, but maybe I could suggest it to the PTA, making something simple like a hanging penguin...

As DC and I didn't go to dance, dh had the car. He has bought us a piano, to be delivered next sat. Yay! But Christmas hasn't been brought inside yet. Oops. One day...

Day of rest for all sounds good - and so does people asking about craft classes, you know your work is seen and appreciated when that happens!  "Hanging penguin" may not be the best description, though

Busyish day ahead. Ugh, as I'm feeling tired and quite dizzy.

Dc wants to go to a friend's church this morning. They also have a VR party this afternoon followed by food at that friend's house. But i need to drop round some food (it's hard to source and we have some, so it's daft to make friend's mum hunt around) and also make cake this morning (pretty sure the cake will not be gluten free and I've had so many years of DC being told ' why don't you take a piece home for daddy?' and get nowt themself. Sigh.)

Sometimes, it seems like life revolves around everything that DC wants to do. But, in some ways, it always has, as they're an only one. And if dc wants to be sociable, I have to help them learn to balance it with still getting to school as much as possible.

Having spent 3 hours yesterday with the parents of a 3 week old baby, yes, I got this one in the eye all over again - life revolves around them!  I looked back at my photos of when the new daddy was a baby, and yep ... life revolves around them

I am very glad that dc had a change of mind and opted to not go to church. I can dodge any thunderbolts aimed my way...! Which meant that I didn't have to urgently needlefelt two penguins before we went.

Cake is made, but no reply from the parent as to what shape/flavour/decoration it is....

Yes, life revolves around dc, but I wouldn't really have it any other way!
