I am slightly less lurgified today, and went to work. It was a quiet time there, as I am unable to speak at normal volume!
Then I did the calculator dance (thanks XSpender!) at liddle and spent another qualifying amount to get my 10 off.
And now I am home, fed, changed and chilling until dd gets home in about 90 mins. Time for WSM and some research on 'life without levels'. Soooo exciting!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
My working week is thankfully finished. I work with a great bunch of people and many asked me how I was.
Pondering fb issues after reading ccl's diary and what she's doing for it, and f0xh0les and beanie commenting on fb people needing items they can eat/heat just using a kettle as they have no access to any other cooking/heating facilities. I'm still helping out my neighbour as a priority, but will do a fb shop tomorrow with a view to getting items that can be eaten hot just using a kettle. Am thinking noodles, couscous, boil-in-bag-style rice, corned beef, tinned frankfurters, cuppa-soup-thingies, tinned veg.
Tomorrow I also want to take about 150 books to 0xfam and do a gf/df shop at sainz (6 off 30 voucher).
And the garden really needs a good prune.
Dd and I got all excited about our local turn-the-lights-on event with santa appearing on his sleigh tomorrow. Then we realised that we were a week ahead of ourselves!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Took dd to school on the bus, got my fb items, dropped them off, did the sainz shop and managed to catch a bus just within the 1 hour limit.
Bought nice chocs for the kitchen staff and manager at dd's sch, to say thank you.
And smoked salmon for cmas time. And some ys items that were good value. Not the '10p loaf and 2p veggies' that I read other people finding, but gf and nice. And a roast-in-the-bag chicken for tea - dh asked for a sm takeaway but I thought that this would be much tastier.
Dh is quite poorly and is appreciating a quiet day in the warm.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
4 boxes of books (almost all of dd's r'bow mag1c ones) and a box of dvds and a suitcase are all with 0xfam now. We just drove there, unloaded and drove home again. Seems a bit like a waste of fuel, but neither of us then wanted to go for a coffee or look to spend any money so coming home was the only option for both of us.
Since then, I've donebunny slope w/o #2, very gently. And dh has washed and cleaned the car to within an inch of its life. And Poirot found the murderer. Phew.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
We all woke up around 9am. Much needed.
I dragged us all out to some ch shops and dd found some books (that was the aim of the outing). Dh got a rick wakeman record for a friend. I found a couple of l/s tops for me and a possible coat for mum. Her winter one is just so old and manky, but it fits her, is warm, and has a hood. Though it comes down to her knees... Trying to find a replacement that fits her chubby but v short frame and fulfils all the criteria and is warm enough - without her with us to try it on - is a challenge! Anyway, I'm v pleased to have found this one.
I have finished the eyes on 16 cmas hatted unicorns, made 3 hanging houses and felted 2 cmas hats for mice. And watched some more WSM. And sat around an awful lot.

Actually set my alarm for this morning, but didn't need it as I was restless quite early. So up I got, and did a gentle workout (bunny slope #3).
Kids klub was fun, as I was on with my favourite team, and dd enjoyed youth. She and I then went for lunch at a friend's house and had an excellent time. Good food, good company, and my friend's husband gave dd a running piggy back back to our car! They live on a very very rutted, potholed, private road which isn't really suitable for our little hatchback so I'd parked about 100 yds from their house and we'd walked. And dd was barefoot. She did v well getting there, but the piggy back offer was just too good to refuse!
Dh has had a chilling out day at home as he is still not too well.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Still mending. Sigh. Have decided not to go and see mum yet as I'm still not fit to travel. Let alone spend time repeating everything I say at least once and ever more loudly. Plus, although mum is a tough old bird, not everyone there is as sturdy as a shetland pony...
Have had chest pains - but proper muscular ones across the 'd!colletage' area that I eventually worked put how to stretch and therefore relieve. (So not internal ones to worry about) I think they may be connected to when I've had a more talky/louder day at work... And I know which classes I can point the finger at :rotfl:.
I almost ordered some big poppers to possibly add to the coat I've found for mum, as it's a duffel-coat-style and therefore draughty. Then dd found some 12mm ones in a bag of poppers we'd got from a ch shop. I was going to get 15mm or even 21mm, but we'll try the 12mm as they are 'free'.
We have 'won' a bike for dd for cmas/bday on eebay and plan to collect it tomorrow. Although we bid higher than the starting bid, because we were the only bid, we have only been charged the starting bid:T, thus saving us £5.01.
I think I'm getting plantar fascitis, having read up on it. However, a few months ago, I read an article on how to 'cure' it so I'm going to do that, cos I really don't like it!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Great find on the 3bay bike. Hope you're all feeling much better soon.
Dh has plantar fasciitis, has so far seen a physio and podiatrist but think he's going to end up with steroid injections. Hope you can address yours without too much trouble.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Cath - I've pm'd you the website for if it can help your dh.
Very glad to finish work for the week, even though I had a super lovely day there.
Dh and I picked up the bike - it is really rather a rusty bucket, but dh says he'll do what he can for it and then take it to hallyfords.
Walked up to meet dd after her club and decided to pop into thelibrary as I was early. Glad I did as my card had been stopped due to a book needing to be returned in sept. Eek. One librarian renewed the book for me so that I could look for it at home. As I was leaving, I decided to have a quick look for the book on the shelves. I found it and another librarian confirmed that it was that very same book, so cancelled the debt and sorted it out for me. I am so so glad that I nipped back to check for it!
First fair is on sat. Yikes. Need to lay out my stuff tomorrow and do price labels/lists, and prep my food and do everything else on the list... And - most importantly - check to see if santa is coming on his sleigh to the local switching-on-of-lights, as dd wishes to see him arrive.
Dd is just so tired at the mo. We have postponed the chemistry hwk until the morning and she is playing with her po11y p0ckets and chatting away to me. So cute!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Well done on getting the book sorted! :T
I've had PF on and off for around 16/17 years - pregnancy with DS2 and DS3 was fab for it (good job, too, as I had SPD with both) It only occasionally flares now and I can see it off relatively quickly. Insoles are a fab thing. I ended up with flat feet after prolonged PF, which is another reason why insoles are good(although I now have achilles tendonitis in one ankle/ heel.... meh)
Hope you can get the boke sorted - that sounds a pain
