It is the holidays for us all - yay! :j
We are in the process of emptying the lost property box at dd's school , washing it all and taking it to the ch shop. Though the temptation is there to try to sell some of the stuff, eg size 9.5 ad1das footie trainers... Don't think I'll succumb ...
We took 2 bags to the Sally Army this morning and then went round all 7 charity shops. We came away with very little indeed, which was pleasing.
We met Peppa pig on the high street - she must've been roasting!
I have cut back my roses and dead-headed one of the phlox plants - it has really struggled in the dry weather and right from the start it had wilted leaves, poor thing.
All in all, a rather lazy day thus far.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Its raining up here, feel free to visit!!

A chillin' day - apart from the temperature!
First thing, I did a yoga routine from a book I bought yesterday for 99p.
A whites wash was done and hung outside.
Then we toddled off to church and kids klub.
After lunch I did a zcut kettlebell workout - #11 - nearly all with the 12k kb. Followed by 100 12k kb swings in 3m03.
The floor has been swept - much needed - and the rug is in with another wash.
2 more Sally Army bags are ready to go. Will take them to the shop in a couple of days - we'll go to the one that's just 1 bus ride away and also mooch round the other ch shops there.
Tomorrow dd and I shall go for a swim. She gets free holiday swimming and I get in cheap. We'll couple it with a visit to the 1 ch shop in that area + an Icyland shop to build up to our free £5.
My gladioli are flowering - an experiment from the £shop - and they are beautiful 2-tone ones. Awesome!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
And more heat today...
Took dd swimming this morning - it has fair worn me out! We both had fun and it was well worth it. Dd gets free swimming in the hols (for a £2 set up fee) but I'm paying 'full whack' now as they changed ownership and my wonderful card that got me a discount aint valid no more. Not that I was paying anything for it anyway! S, plenty of fun for £4.10.
Have washed more lost property items. They are only getting a 15 min wash as our machine is rather temperamental and dh wouldn't thank me if I broke it... But they'll dry so quickly in this weather.
The travel insurance we'd set up for going to Oz this summer - and which we couldn't cancel beacause we'd gone beyond the cooling off period - is fine for next week's trip to Spain. A few fewer pennies to hand out. Yay.
6 more eyes are required to finish the 4 lavender bellied nellies we are taking as gifts. It's only a 20min job, at the most, but I do keep putting it off! Daft.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Awake early. Again. I think some neighbours must leave the house at 5.19am. And then the immediate neighbours are up and about by 5.30. Ugh. I do try to stay in bed and snooze, but by 6.15 or so, I'm bored of it! So I get up,but have to be super quiet so as not to wake the others (house doesn't have internal brick walls, so sounds travel far).
Anyhow, I've had a decaff, done a yoga routine, and increased the to-do list.
In 4 minutes' time I'll put the washing machine on. 7.30 is penty enough of a lie-in for the sleepy heads...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
The wash has finished and been hung out.
I have made more ginger biscuits and an attempt at pretzels.
And dd sleeps on...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Another swim day. Dd can go a bit further each time and should soon be able to swim a width. She is more and more confident and less and less afraid of other people also in the water. She 'swims' around happily whilst I go and do a couple of lengths every so often. It was lovely to have wet hair afterwards as it was so hot outside.
We have harvested some lavender - I had to stop when I stood up and cracked my head on the open window. Ouch! But we have normal lavender and white lavender, which is unusual - I didn't know it existed. We've made up a sprig of stalks for mum tomorrow, though she'll pick at it and destroy it pretty quickly. At least she can enjoy the lavender smell in the meantime.
Filled in some more papers for the solicitor and will drop then off tomorrow. Also had a v useful chat with the estate agents. Dd and I have a lonnng list of tasks to do tomorrow: dd has to do her mahs and english pages for the day; pack; travel to bham (via Euston so as to go past the homeless man that we give money to); get off the cross-city train to see mum (with flowers and lavender); get back on the train to take papers to the solicitor; visit barc1ays; mooch around the ch shops; buy food for tea + bfast; go to the house; relax. I don't think I've missed anything out...
Enough wittering!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
The 5.19 neighbours were running late today - it was 5.42 this morning. Who needs an alarm clock!
The recyc men are here - they seem to either come at 6am ish or late afternoon.
The paddling pool is empty and drying out ready for a thorough clean as each time we fill it, there are wiggly live critters in there after a couple of days and the bottom of it goes green really quickly. Yuk.
Another hot day ahead - but I bet v1rg1n will have their aircon set to 'icy' on the train... so we'd best take a jumper!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Mum was in fair form. I managed to head her off from going down the path of misery, which was good all round.
Dd and I gave up on getting back on the train or bus to go to the solicitor - it can wait till tomorrow, although it'll require an early start. And with no noisy neighbours, I'd best set an alarm!
The heat wore us out. And it'll be more of the same tomorrow. And when we toddle off to Spain next week, we're looking at up to 37 degrees. In the NORTH! Ooph.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
