Meds helped and got me through kids klub. Came home and sat on the bed for a while - dh made me scrambled egg + and apple for lunch. Took more meds around 6pm - whilst they are fairly effective, you are only supposed to have 8 per 24hr period, and I had 10 yesterday... Oopsie.

However, I did finish 3 bunnies and have slightly streamlined what I'm taking to the sch fair for tomorrow (including a bundle of meds!!). Dd's uniform got washed, and I've set out my clothes for the morning. Barbie in a Cmas Carol has been watched, and dd is now asleep. Pale as ever.

And it was a grain and sugar free day too. And another NSD.

I'm now off to bed myself x

Despite spilling all the things for the Christmas Fair as I hauled them out of the door this morning, I have sold a fair number of them, making £62.70 profit. Not bad for 90 minutes' work - if you don't count the hours and hours put in to making them, which would reduce the hourly rate of pay somewhat...

Meds, copious amounts of strong coffee, and water - and lovely children - got me through the day. And aldee has provided me with yet more balsam tissues. So, not another NSD, but some steps, grain-free and sugar-free achieved. And I shall start on my next book this evening, if I can stay awake long enough.

Days left at work before the break = 5. Happy. Amount of marking that needs completing by the end of the 5th day of work = humungous. Not quite so happy.

Craft-wise, I think I shall do the following:
    -make more mice
-de-limb some bunnies and attach them to different bodies
    -make some brightly-coloured bunnies

But for this evening, it can all sit in the boot of the car, resting peacefully...

And now I have 5 more working days left.

The pile of marking has been reduced but will soar very high on Thursday unless I am able to get some of a particular batch done tomorrow...

Steps crept up to 5 figures today, though I'm over 8k below the target at the mo...

Another NSD, grain free day and sugar free day.

Tomorrow, we can start to clear space to put up Christmas. Finally! Dd is usually chomping at the bit from mid-November but hasn't been as eager so far. I think that we are all so busy, tired and under the weather that the usual day-to-day things are all we can manage.

This evening was the last brownies for the year. Tomorrow is the last cheer. Taekwondo ended last week. Dance ends this Sat. And then it is the last week of term.

Off to try to get into my book.

And now there are 4 left...

Plenty of evidence of lovely pupils today. A level kiddies did excellent mock orals. A y8 taking his gcse French early (he's a trilingual one) actually turned up to do his oral. The y7s were focussed and productive on designing their own Gruffalo. Y11s did their mock listening and then we chatted about money, debt, house-ownership, cars... They wish to continue the chat tomorrow!

I didn't do any of the extra marking, but I did get some photocopying done...

And we have not yet got Christmas out of the box. We are such messy people that there is no room for it yet!

I have dismembered about a dozen bunnies that were not selling - too pale. So the white bodies will get arms and legs to match their ears, and the 'spare' arms and legs will be attached to bright bodies, which will have to be made. And some will simply get swapped around: the stars on one ear/arm/leg + stripes on the other will become either all starry or all stripey.

Steps are around 8k, but I am well under for the week. That's what happens when the lurgi hits... Said lurgi is retreating but the cough is more persistent. When I start coughing at work, the pupils start to edge away from me and look for the nearest exit...

Dh is 'working from home' tomorrow as he has another eye appointment. So he can take and collect dd - yay!

A little more paid off the mortgage today. We only need to overpay my 'basic' figure by £27 pcm to do it in 3 years. However, once I drop down from 4 days back to 2, that 'basic' figure will be a challenge to achieve. So every month where we can pay off more is a month that will help when there is less coming in.

Aha - was triumphing the joys of being frugal with the y11s. They were pretty interested! One does hope to get rich quick (the lazy one!); another said that if she got that amount of money then she would pay off her parents' mortgage :T. Awesome child!

Another good chat with the y11s! In fact, another good day at work, really. Got the shed load of extra marking done - must remember to buy the promised prizes...

Have been told that I need to reduce my roaming profile by over 50%. Gulp. So that is a challenge for next mon and tues...

    Tomorrow:
    -library
-bank coins from float + then pay them off the mortgage
-aldee (not a big shop methinks...)
    -TIDY!!!!
-arrange presents (teachers; dd's friends; colleagues; dh!)
    ...

  • Lovely to hear about the young ones interested in money stuff/frugality. :D

And well done on the fair :T

How's your DH doing? Hope his eye is settling down. A couple of my wounds took a while to heal properly and it seriously freaked me out not knowing if I was going to have to get extra things done to them. It's quite exhausting dealing with this post-op stuff. And of course they didn't send me home with anywhere near enough information. Thankfully Mr Merle is an expert googler. :rotfl:

I owe you a super proper catch up ;) but just had to delurk and say hello properly
a penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible | The only thing you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library

Oooh, Pearla, you are post 2000! :D

Dh's eye is still not resolved. They are still doing the 'wait and see' stance re loosening the sutures to open the flap a little more, as the pressure is waaaay too high.

Add to that the fact that his company are in the process of another round of redundancies, and that the department dh is in has to lose 2/11 workers... Therefore, dh is not having a good day...

But dd is! We have attached yellow stars to her white dress for her school performance next week, and all the costume parts are in a bag ready to go in. She is well fed up of all the rehearsals! And I suspect the teachers are too...

No exercsie for a whole week now. Tomorrow I do hope to get a good number of steps in and will see how I feel about doing a proper workout... I do not like being behind my targets this early in the month!
