Delivery of stuff shipped from Oz arriving between 2.20 and 3.20 tomorrow, so I shall be in. May spend the morning traipsing around some ch shops... To get my steps up, of course...

10 little owls + faces cut out tonight.

Dd is finally asleep so I'll go and catch up with dh.

Oooh, excited at my day of freedom to mooch round the ch shops! With a list of course... And c0sta points to get a free drink and either peruse my lovely purchases, or add to the list of things to acquire...

And a bag with my owl sewing in it: cut out owls + heart 'faces' + buttons +6 different threads to sew the button eyes on + needles + scissors + sparkly wool to attache faces to bodies. For a simple sewing job!

My 7 day average step count is 12984, so I MUST get that to over 13000, mustn't I.

Dd is desperate to finish her Jac Wilson book before school - less than 10 pages to go...

A good haul has been uncovered. I mooched a LOT in the various charity shops and for a grand total of about £14.55, I got:

3m pink ribbon and various colours of embroidery thread = £5
4 pillow protectors, new in packet = £2
4 pillow cases, mostly for lavender bags = £1
a blank framed canvas for dd to paint = 50p
10 envelopes for me to use for Christmas cards = 50p
    moustache-shaped paper clips for dsd = 50p
a Jean Greenhowe booklet of knitting ideas = 20p
    11 books = £4.85

I then sat in C0sta for an hour, nursing a black coffee and sewing eyes onto owls. Next time, I'll sit by a window as I'm finding I need better light to be able to thread the needle!

Dss + gf's boxes have arrived - just as I got home myself, so pretty perfect timing.

Off to count the books I already have for dd's book advent calendar, and hide a few bits and bobs. Then I shall settle to Time Team with my owls.

Dh is rather overwhelmed at the mo: work, his eyes (due an op on one of them in Nov, and then the New Year for the other), church PA, new church PA, sorting out monies for his ds + gf for the flat, no free time to himself really.

The countdown to freedom (tee hee, does that ring a bell, Tilly?) is just 3 more nights...

Ooh - hope DH gets some down time soon x

Woohoo - freedom is almost here! :j

I've had to get the 'easy to thread' needles now :o my eyesight is poor, even with my glasses on:(

Found 21p roadkill today. 1p at the cashpoint and 20p in the road. I had to wait oh-so-nonchalantly until there was a gap in the traffic, but I got it!

Dd is now on half term. What are the odds that she wakes up early tomorrow...

All 10 owls now 'lavender owls' and just need their bottoms sewing up.

An argus delivery has not been arranged so I've no idea what they plan to sleep on, come Sat night... Departure from here may be slower than hoped for...

We did suggest that they bought a 'thank you' present for my friend who has given them a box of kitchen stuff - don't think it had occurred to them...

Dd wishes to mooch round some ch shops tomorrow - she is totally her mother's daughter!! (We'll not go where I went today though)

Must research those easy-to-thread needles, greent! Have sewn up 8 owls but the last 2 require a different thread and it is downstairs.

Today is key-acquisition day :j. From the noises downstairs, they have taken some stuff with them. And they are gone for the day - yippee!

Dd brought home the Love in a Box leaflet yesterday, and plans to do 2. So today will also involve seeking out things for them.

I have discovered that starbooks do a free refill on their filter coffee. So although I didn't need - or even really want - 2 mugfuls, I forced them down...

Well, it felt like we spent a fortune - and although I have it all written down in my notebook, I've avoided adding it up. Must feel guilty! It did include a variety of stuff, including some Christmas bits for dd, some fabric for making bags, and some things for the love in a box boxes. Bargain of the day was a shallow wicker tray/basket for £1, which will be great for displaying wares at the fairs :D.

Today I have made 5 or 6 felt owls and 2 felt penguins. Am loving the penguins, so will make a few more tomorrow. They are all lavender ones. However, stitching with black wool onto black felt is done more by feel than by sight...!

I have so much stuff made that it won't all fit on one table, when the time comes. Must have a practice display session soon...

Ballet and freestyle tomorrow - the last of the official activities for a week. I'm hoping to go for 2 shortish runs in the park next to the dance classes, while dd is in the classes - getting back for the changeover, of course! Dh can mooch at home - he deserves a break, amd sunday is going to be an extremely stressfilled morning for him.

They have their keys and will be going down tomorrow with another carful. We think they'll be back at some point, as they can have a dressing table we have in the loft and dss may want the bike we've given him.

Must remind dh about getting the front door keys back from them...!

Saw a challenge today: 10,000 kettlebell swings in a month. Or 500 a day, 5 days a week, for 4 weeks. Reading further, the article 'suggested' adding the swings on to the end of other workouts - cough, splutter, gasp!

I have done 100 swings for time - between 2min52 and 3min23 - so would assume 500 could be done in under 20 mins.

And since the article was for men, it started with a 16kg kettlebell. Ha! I have an 8kg one, or my sandbag that weighs in around 10k.

Worth considering for November - working the 4 days and then doing the dd stuff doesn't leave much spare time, and the swings could be done in my work clothes... I could do them like Tilly Tidies...!

Dd has done dance classes and I have been for a run - about 18mins without stopping :T. No stopping me now! Dh has had a fairly chilled out morning. And they have gone :j

I have no plans at all for the afternoon, beyond watching the rugby...
