Don't wear yourself out dear, 10,000 is a lot, keep it to 5 or 6,000
.
I'm already dropping in the ranking of my few fitbit 'friends'! With MWC and Lilty, the best iIcan hope for is 3rd, but am sitting (literally!) at around 5 or 6. Not good for my ego...! :rotfl:NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Been up 1.5 hours. Mooched a LOT on here. Had my morning coffee. And still no one else is even moving upstairs! Dd slept with her curtains open and although the walls are18" thick, she gets the morning sun - of which there is plenty so far. And she is still in the land of nod.
Must go and clatter some pans or put the telly on loud...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
They are both up and we are all fed and watered, tho still in jamas. The sun is still shining and it has been decreed that today we shall go swimming.
3 monsters are knitted and eyed but not sewn up, so that is today's task. Note to self: leave gap for stuffing them!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

The sunshine ran away -sorrrrrrry! And the waterproofs I threw in the car at the last minute were truly useful - dd even did hers up and put the hood up, it was that bad.
A swim has been had. Got in 20 lengths - not sure of the pool length but I know for sure it was not an olympic sized rectangle. Dd alternated between the little and big pools, and even tried some swimming without armbands or noodle. Instead of simply sinking - like last time - she managed a few nanoseconds of staying above the water before ducking under. Progress! And, once again, her confidence in the water has soared.
We then walked into town (leisure centre car parking was free - why pay when less than a 10 min walk takes you in to the centre?) and pootled to a coffee shop. Must 've stayed there a while as I got 3/4 of one side of a monster knitted. Also picked up a couple more books for dd in teh ch shops - she gets through them soooo fast - and a sunhat for her. I acquired a single duvet cover with russian dolls on one side and pretty hearts on the other. I'm thinking of turning it into bags, bunnies and stuffed dolly thingies. May have to have September as a sewing month...
Although I must bear in mind that our visitors will be around a lot too...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Went for a walk this morning, before the others woke up. Downhill for a bit, turned around, then uphill for a bit. Totalled exactly 4000 steps!
And have been more or less sat on my bum since!
We have shelved the bike ride idea and are simply off to another town in a while. Given that we were willing to pay about £40 for the bikes, we should have a fun time out!! Tee hee - hope we don't spend that much... Will have to keep an eye on dh. And be restrained myself. And buy MILK - we are totally out of it.
Have checked out free parking and found a playground and coffee shops. Sorted.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Managed to choose market day to visit town. And the main roads run right through the middle. And parking was elusive. AND expensive. Definitely not a place to return to! And we did spend rather a lot.
I find it hard to spend so much money when I don't usually let it go easily! Anyhow, dd now has a plethora of books, a brand new regatta top, pink pumps and a few other bits and bobs. Dh got a new fleece and book. I got a long-sleeved tee-shirt.
Tomorrow we shall return home and I cannot wait! We're leaving a day early as we then have to go to the coast on Sat/Sun and dd and I are headed to Bham on Mon. Too much for my brain to handle... Washing, packing, unpacking, travelling, planning the food, entertaining dd...
Mermaidia is on the telly so I'm off for a bath. Am having an out-of-sorts day so a good scrub should help improve my mood.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Yep, the August monster-making challenge has been fun! 4 need stuffing and the final sewing up, and #32 has half a body, so not far to go to make the target.
With being away on and off for another week, I shall endeavour to make even more - keeps me sane on trains, waiting for dd to drop off...
It has indeed been a lovely break, but I am so ready to go home tomorrow! We had originally thought about leaving late, to get to the lunnun ringroad/carpark late, in the hope that traffic will have eased. But instead are going to try to be gone by 10am.
Now there's a challenge!
Mucky clothes in 1 bag; clean stuff in another; wipe down the bathroom and kitchen (after brekkie, of course); hoover; shove it all in the car and go!
Once home, explode it all onto the lounge floor and get the washing machine going. Must also book train tickets to see mum.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
