Bag Packing at supermarkets

It would surprise me if they were interested in such small amounts of money.
I think they charge for businesses to provide services the front of store, for example sky… but why not?
On this subject does anybody know what criteria applies for businesses looking to promote at front of store?

OP probably saw something on Facebook asking for likes and shares and thought is was true. I've worked in supermarkets and they haven't done this.

I find it really irritating with charity bag packers on the tills. I'd rather pay them NOT to pack my bags.

As a Guide leader I always tell my girls to ask the person if they want help, along with telling them how to pack (soft light stuff on top etc). We are quite happy to take your money for doing nothing

Having supported my Scouting DS at numerous bag packing sessions, I can tell you that they need to ask you first if you want help with your bags and if the answer is no then they back off and leave you to it. But if you want to give us money for nothing - great.

Having worked with a number of charities, I will not detail the excruciating waste that goes on with their unfocused, antique, organisations and over-generous salaries. However bag-packing in supermarkets is another story. Why aren't bags packed by the cashier as a matter of course? Are they waiting until self-service aisles take over, then shortly after, all the supermarkets get smaller when most give up and have it delivered instead? Invited chuggers are a pathetic nod towards a sneeringly, caring supermarket.

( Do they take a percentage of all poppy sellers, guide dogs collection tins too ?)

This is why I donate to only small local charities with little or no staff.

Though even with that you have to be careful. One local charity with a turnover of around 4 million pays Cheif exec 160k were as a very similar one doing the same thing with roughly the same turnover pays it's Cheif exec 70k.
