Hi all, I'm still here snd following this thread. I am just so bust at the moment that I dont seem to be getting any time to craft :( I'm hoping today that I will be able to make a few things as I want to make my little ones good luck cards and charms as they are both sitting their sats exams next week :(

I slso need to go on the naughty step as I did treat myself to a lot of project life bits from THAT shopping channel this week as they were reduced :( I'm hoping that I can send back a few bits though as I just dont need them snd havent got the space to store them :) I also purchased a return label so it wont cost me any more :)

Loving all the makes :) keep up the stash busting :)

Oh dear craftingmad.... still, like a diet, you're bound to have a few blips along the way to destashing!

I've decided I can't possibly use up all my stash, and it's making me unhappy having so much that I don't use it and have lost interest in the craft. So today I have sorted out my cross stitch stash and sorted out loads for the local hospital's dementia group, likewise with my rubber stamps and inks. All stash that I bought in a mad spending frenzy over a period of years - I think I liked the buzz of actually acquiring it more than actually using it. How many times did I say "But it's too gorgeous to spoil by cutting it/using it". So.... it has to go and it's better off with people who will actually use it than it is sitting in my stash cupboard.

There is one cross stitch kit I bought in the US in 2008 and have never even opened. I doubt I ever will - I just wanted to buy something as a souvenir, with the intention of stitching it 'one day'.

While I'm in the mood I will go through my fabric stash and see if I can hone it down any more. I'm even more precious about my fabric, can't bear to let even a tiny bit go, but it's stupid hanging on to it. So wish me luck and I'll be back to report in later.

Brilliant makes, I really love the cards and I fancy adding the coasters to my to do list :rotfl:. I've not been around as we were getting things ready for my daughter and her family coming to stay, they arrived on Friday and I'm knackered. I had the bunting up and it looked quite good, it got a few strange looks from passers by though. I've no idea how much time I'm going to have to make things now they're here but I'm going to try.

Here's the bunting outside the house.

It's not a great picture but it was a bit windy.

Well the coasters arrived yesterday so last night while I still had the old road atlas out I picked out a few pages, printed my quotes directly onto the pages and glued them to the coasters, a few coats of varnish and they are done - so another item added to signature yaay :T

Just looking for ideas for the rest of the book now (in the past I made a picture for a couple with hearts cut out of maps showing where they were born, where they married and where they live, looked nice & quite expensive - so was well pleased)

Keep up the great work everyone :A

Re getting sorted - I don't feel able to do what you are doing. I have way too much stuff but still feel - it may be useful!

It's a wrench I must say, but I have so many crafts that I started and don't do any more.. I have OCD as I buy obsessively when I get interested in something, and won't use it until I have collected everything that I think I need. I am also compulsive... I have bought loads of things on a whim. Instead of buying one of something, I'd buy half a dozen to make sure I never ran out. or if I liked something I'd buy it in 6 different colours.

So I have to make the cut and get it out of my life. It's making me unhappy, like a great weight on my shoulders having all this 'stuff'. I still have enough to play with if I want to do cross stitch again, and have kept a few stamps and inks.

I'm also trying to become a minimalist and free myself of possessions: I know that it will take me years and years if I try and use everything up so this is the best way for me.

For once i didn't start early this morning, so i decided to make some bookmarks before work. There are five bookmarks, double sided. Sig is updated.

Everyone seems to be working so hard on crafting at the moment! Makes me feel like i'm being lazy!
