Er... I did say that in the first place! 18th July would be 120th day, so 17th wouldn't and (as Resitmutton also said) that would mean sending the August bill. It's not rocket science!
  • If you go by the 120 day rule, you won't meet this criteria until 18 July if you include both connection date and date of bill, later if you don't.

If you go by the "connection for 4 months" rule, you won't meet this criteria until 21 July.

Therefore, by any measure of interpretation, a bill dated 17 July is too early - it has to be the August bill that you send. However, I'm more than happy for anyone else to challenge this logic.

Great, thanks for that Reestit Mutton. I also thought the August bill, but then there's so much ££s to lose you can't be too careful. CNM actually replied pretty quickly to my email with a very clear answer that it is indeed the August bill (would have posted back shere ooner but had a dreadful summer cold) and then claim 2 is the September bill.
  • NO!!

I really DO wish people would make sure they understand the t&c before they buy!!

It is VERY clear really. Day of connect. Add 119 days and you've been connected for 120.

Add 119 days? The terms and conditions state 'This is 120 days after connection', so surely you would add 120?

If you were asked what date it would be 1 day after January 1st, you would say January 2nd. I.e. Jan 1 + 1.

    Hi,

I emailed Phonebox direct before placing my order asking them to confirm which bills I needed to send in to claim the cashback. They asked me to contact them again once the phone was connected and after receiving my first bill, which I did....They sent me a copy of their terms and conditions again which was most helpful.

I ordered the u600 on vodafone, which meant that I received my first bill approx 5 weeks after connection.

The phone was connected on 17/5/07, the first bill was received on 18/6/07 and the second bill was received on 18/7/07. Cashback claimed in 5 stages.

    My calculations....

Stage 1 (4 months) - Send in bill received on 18/09/07
Stage 2 (6 months) - Send in bill received on 18/11/07
Stage 3 (8 months) - Send in bill received on 18/01/08
Stage 4 (10 months) - Send in bill received on 18/03/08
Stage 5 (12 months) - Send in bill received on 18/05/08

    Is this correct?

Please help as it will enable me to have a worry free holiday. I've already had a dispute with e2save in the past where i've had to get the small claims court involved, I dont want to have to wait over a year to get my cashback again.

    Thanks

    Hi,
My connection date is 20 March 2007. My vodafone bill date is 17th of every month.
My 120th day is on 17 July. But, when I calculated 120 days using dateandtime calculation website, it gave me 18 July and so, I thought i should send my Aug bill only.

Unfortuantely, I came across this thread only today. Now, I am really worried that I should have sent my July bill only. So, have I lost my £480 now?

Please can someone like ReestitMutton clarify this?

Also, I read in one of CNM thread that now they have changed the t&c to 60 days...So, am I still on the safer side?

I would be very grateful if someone clarify this? I am really worried that I have I will loose my money for missing this....

I really need someone's help here...I would be very very grateful, if someone could throw some light on this...

sorry...thought of posting it again..as the thread seems to be not read by anyone.

    Please can someone help...
My date of connection 20 march 2007 and my bill date is 17th of every month. So, my 120th day was on 17 July - billing date. So, will I be loosing my claim as I thought its only the aug bill that needs to be sent//

    Please someone clarify...

  • Could someone please explain where I would fine my 'connection date' on my bill. The bill below is my first bill. I would take it to be 4th July? The bill is dated 9th of August.

  • GabrielleKnight - sorry, been away for 4 weeks and only just seen your post. I take your point. I have looked at it again and IF the date fell on the 120 days rather than the 121 I would email and see if I could get a written answer. If not, persoanlly I would still go with the 120 and argue afterwards than risk losing out by sending a month late.

Yatin 123 - in your case it seems clear you would have to send the August bill assuming the July one is was dated 17th and not later. However, bear in minfd that as time progresses there are more than 30 days on average in a month so you will end up sending one claim only one month after the previous one.
