For those of you that have recently received tea and cake or soup vouchers ... have you been spending in John Lewis the past few months? Just wondering if people who havent shopped will no longer receive the vouchers! Thanks

It'd also be interesting to know whether people used their previous voucher(s) as they are now able to be tracked to the originating account.

They always had the capability to track them to the originating account.

JLP catering staff may not always have passed the coupons on so that they were tracked (some customers say they discarded them) but it was always possible because the card number was always included.

Reckon it'll be another 2 - 3 weeks before mine arrive as past experience suggests they go out in batches and the earlier batches get the most vouchers then decreasing down to the last batch receiving the one voucher.


Will see what happens this time but by my reckoning (and it is just on my past experience) I'll be getting the one voucher....

Im new to the MSE forums so hello everyone!

Ive just recieved my JL cake vouchers today. 5 in total 1 for each month Oct to Feb. Im delighted as Ive only had one so far this year ( and because who doesn't like free cake!)

I spend a small amount in John Lewis from time to time but havent bought anything other than a cheap £12 duvet in at least 6 months, so Im certainly not a big spender. Maybe they're trying to lure me back?!

Someone on another forum I'm on also received five vouchers today! I bet I don't get any! :-(

Good to hear people are still receiving vouchers. No one in my household (4) have had any this time round, so still seems like its very random who gets them and who doesnt!

I signed up for the My John Lewis card 3 weeks ago. I received one voucher for free drink and cake in September. My friend signed up a few days later and got 3 vouchers for free tea and cake and a £5 off a £50 spend! Don't understand it at all!

There has always been a barcode on the vouchers which contains the membership number, expiry date and some other data.

Presumably these get scanned somewhere after the vouchers have been processed, as they never do anything in store, other than put the vouchers into a small plastic cup.
