Have you looked to see if you have been unsubscribed from being contacted?

    Ah ha, that explains it

I just checked my account and I'm unsubscribed.

But I did that myself, as I was fed up of getting so many emails blocking my inbox

On balance, I'm happy to do without a coffee and cake, and not be bombarded with emails.

(I'll just have to help my husband eat his cake!)

Forgot to say my parents got one each, and they've never spent a penny in there either.

4 'My John Lewis' accounts in our family. 1 of us spends there, and the other 3 spend nothing.

Guess which 3 of us received the voucher this time? ;)

Many thanks to all those posting on here. I havent received any tea and cake vouchers this year, even though I have made several purchases. After reading this thread, I remembered I changed my email address associated with JL at beginning of year, and when I checked my account sure enough the 'opt out' box was now ticked, but I hadn't ticked it! I have now contacted JL and had a moan as most people have now received vouchers up to September, so not much chance of me getting 'at least 3 vouchers per year' as stated on the webpage. Will report back on here any progress!

There's the real reason - making purchases seems to cut out the cake and drink vouchers, as it has done for me.

Logical, in a sense, because JL don't need to entice paying customers into their stores with cake, but a sure-fire way of hacking off those loyal customers once the cat's out of the bag!

Surprise, surprise. To be fair to John Lewis the 4th one (for the only one of us who buys regularly from them) arrived today, with 4 vouchers for cake/drink in June, July, August and September.

I've spent quite a bit with JL over the last few months, and received 5 drink and cake vouchers (first one 22 May to end of June, then one for each month after that)

I have had a response from JL:

"I was sorry to learn that you had not received any rewards from us since last Christmas, and this would appear to be due to unknowingly opting out of marketing through resetting your password. Thank you very much for bringing this to my attention as this was not something we were aware of that happened through resetting your password. I have passed this on to my line manager for this issue to be investigated and also advised the entire team to be aware of this and advise this to customers if they are resetting their password.
I have double checked your membership and can assure you that your preferences are all correct and all mailings shall be sent out to you now. I have also arranged for two extra vouchers be issued today and these shall be sent recorded delivery and be with you within 7 days."

Now remains to be seen if I do receive the next batch of vouchers, which I assume wont be until September, but at least I should be receiving two vouchers shortly.
