exactly! And if you are in the store to read the signs you'll read that you need to spend more than £10 to take up the offer. If I get a chance to visit the store I'll try to take a picture of this, though it is quite a bit out of my way, if no one here is going to believe me despite my experiencing this each time I visited in the last 3 months then I will try to do this.0

I don't think people disbelieve you Jenniewb but if they are like me, can't believe that one store has a different rule which is against the t&cs. It could be because of their location they are not included in the offer but it would be good to have confirmation from HO.
Thanks, neither could I, but it's said to me and (eavesdropping) everyone else who gets to the tills as well, either they are asked "what drink would you like/would you like a free tea/coffee" or "as you've not spent over £10 you wont be able to get a free drink today". No other store does this, but most have a coffee machine you can just walk to, this store has a proper barista making coffee.
It affects me because I have to have soya milk as I can't be bothered with the effects of normal milk on my stomach (I'm intolerant to dairy products) so am not normally able to take up the offer in other stores. Canary Wharf have staff making the coffee and don't demand you've spent £10, it's just the Waitrose part of John Lewis Oxford Street.
I'd stopped going in partly as a result as at the moment I'm trying to keep myself out of every shop (no cash and it's depressing just window shopping each time) the coffee would have had me visiting but not if I've got to lumber around £10 worth of food in this heat!0 -

Just stating my experience. I've never spent £10 or near that, and have asked for just a receipt for the drink so I could get one at JL/W, Oxford Street.
Look forward to the photos.Free thinker.:cool:0 -

Well, I took the time to go right out of my way to go to John Lewis to the foodhall department where there is a Waitrose/JL food department to see the signs for the coffee, they'd all been covered up with a different sign stating that the machine was broken and they were not offering any coffee or tea!
I did try to peel off the new sign to take a picture of the sign underneath but it wasn't the sign they have at the tills, just the one you see as you order your coffee so makes no mention of any spend required, there were so few customers and so many staff that I felt a bit too self-conscious to go unpeeling all their signs off in view of all the till staff and various other staff members waling around, but I do have a picture of the notice where the coffee machine and staff normally are.
Just need advice on how on Earth I get this image to the text box- I keep getting told it is too large despite it being reduced to the height of 5 lines at it's longest length!0 -
Has anyone else run out of JL tea and cake vouchers? July was my last one and I haven't received anymore despite spending alot in the last few months with my JL card.0

I've run out of vouchers and I have spent money over the last 3 months. Not loads, but still. Nothing in the post yet. I know they came quite late last time but still before the start of the next month. I'll miss them if they've stopped but it will also mean I'm less likely to visit the store because I'm not going to go for a wander round without an incentive unless I've got something specific to buy.0

My husband's one arrived part way through the month and the first one said use by 22 June and the second use from 23 June to the 22 July or something like that (I've guessed the dates so these are examples) so I shouldn't worry too much. It has been suggested by a previous poster that JL may be pulling this deal but we don't know for sure or when it will be if they do.0

Got my vouchers so will try the first one out this weekend.
I wonder if JL have seen an increase in sales. Should of really done a soft launch like buy 1 get 1 or cake & coffee for £2 to test the response.
Maybe one day it'll be free cake & free coffee & free £5 gift voucher :rotfl:0
