If you take 2 empty litre bottles through security, thats fine.
Fill them up for nothing at the drinking fountain in duty free.
It's what we did last week.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

You could look out for special promotions once you are through security. When we flew from Stanstead in April, W H Smith were selling a half litre of water for about £1.30. BUT if you bought a copy of the Daily Telegraph for 75p you got the same bottle of water for free. So just have a look at the various shops to see what's on offer. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

What an excellent suggestion. You could take 100ml bottles filled with squash to use with it. Certainly will do this on our next trip0 -
Be aware that some airports are not even allowing people to take through empty bottles. I don't know the reasons why, but there was a post to this effect recently.Gone ... or have I?0

On the otherhand, rather than give Tesco even 1p of my hard earned, Ill just pay £2 departure side and live with my self.:rolleyes:0 -

You are NOT allowed to take containers over 100ml even if they are empty. If you click the big link on post 3 it says so. If you take an empty container over 100ml be prepared to lose it.Cash ISA rate 6.5% fixed for 2 years. Mortgage rate 0.75% = 5.75% profit on £75K = £4500 per year:j

bylromarha was allowed last week0 -
We dont know if security saw, and inspected them and then permited them (breaking their own rules) or whether they got through without them being noticed.budgetflyer wrote: »bylromarha was allowed last week
You can argue that any non permited item that gets past security passed security was 'allowed' through but it could be taken off you if noticed. I dont think that anyone gets locked up for empty bottles so i guess some people will take the risk of losing empty bottles of little value.Cash ISA rate 6.5% fixed for 2 years. The kind at gatwick at 3am:D
Didn't have any problem with them at all as we put them in one of those trays you put through the scanner.
But who cares...2 empty bottles would have been no loss if binned, though why they won't let you take them is beyond me, especially as you can buy them after security.

The whole thing's a farce if you ask me.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?
