:rudolf: small wall has been papered
:rudolf: large cupboard has been emptied (I need to Hoover it out and line the shelves with something). I can then decide what is going to go in said large cupboard.
I bid on (and won) DD's bed for her Christmas present last night. It's about 40 miles away from home and will take me a 3-4 hour minimum round trip to collect. My winning bid was £2:20 :j:money::beer:. DH and I have discussed and I will actually hand over £20 as I would feel really bad handing over £2.20. The bed when new is £160 and we couldn't get it when we were at the big blue shop. They have it available now but only in white and we prefer the grey.
DH has picked up they beading this evening to run alongside the stairs. He'll stick that up tomorrow.
:rudolf: I've filled 2 bin bags with rubbish to go.
We have decided to have DD's birthday celebration on Saturday so that all the kids can get together and play party games. DD groaned but I think it's going to be loads of fun and will stop them going upstairs and trashing the bedrooms.
Will quickly whizz around the list in the morning, having only done the dailies today. Speaking of which, I need to go and shuffle the WM and TD. DW has probably finished too!
Sorry so many of you are having grim times. I hope things improve soon.
Skint, is it you with the radiators? I'm wondering if they are full of sludge? Is there any warmth at the top of them? If they are, you can remove them from the wall (you need to stop the water supply first or there will be carnage!) and take them outside, drain out all the mucky water and run a hose full of water through which will degunge them. It's not ideal and won't work as well as running fernox or such like through but when you have no spare cash, it can tide you over. You would then reattach rad and bleed it.
Ours have isolation valves to every rad in order to keep removing and replacing (decorating!) but you may not have.

He is a mixed breed, large dog. Think German shepherd/lurcher/a bit of everything! He seems happier after one dose so fingers crossed they will do the trick! Post-op rest would drive him (and me) nutty!
I know what you mean! Although ours was happy to rest post-op, so it must have hurt! He was 2 1/2 at the time, so not old. He is fine now, and recovered quickly, but it was very expensive! Luckily he was insuredFingers crossed for a speedy recovery with no op x

Dusty - *hugs*
Working from my own lists this week. Work Wed/Thurs, DD is going away Saturday just overnight but needs to be collected early, I have 2 Christmas gifts I need to wrap and send with her, I lost today to Christmas shopping with her but only got 2/6 gifts so I'm back out tomorrow to get them remaining 4 (and maybe a few bits for DD) before the money gets spent on something else! I can foresee Friday being another mad dash around the house to get stuff done before the weekend.
Now I'm off to bed. I'm too tired to do anything else, and I would ideally like to be up and out for just after 8am tomorrow. Night all :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Sorry to hear about Royal Paws, Dusty - glad she is at home and comfortable. (((Hugs))) for you and DS3.
Katy, having measles is bad enough. Having measles and chickenpox in the same year is just extreme :rotfl: But I do sympathise - I had measles when I was 29 and had never felt so ill in my life.
Hope you're feeling better today, wendywitch.
09:00:05 ??? Yay, skinty, go girl!!!
So pleased for you re: car, Vanilla.
I finished painting our bedroom this morning and have started on the grandchildren's room / my office. Hope to get more done tomorrow afternoon, The decorators are arriving at 7.45 to start the HSL, then most of upstairs will be done (there's just a small door and loft hatch to paint in the bathroom when we move the beds back into the bedrooms!) and we'll be waiting for the carpet fitter.
We also played packing case tetris this morning. I didn't manage to unpack any boxes for my challenge, but we have rearranged things so that I can get to paint two of the lounge walls while DH finishes glossing wardrobe doors and handrails. Afterwards , we can move things round so that I can get to the other two walls. Things are moving on...0 -

HTH's...
My system has a magnatech thingy which attracts the metally sludgey deposits, but you have to drain the system before you can remove it. The EX drains and clears with the expensive solutions once a year, but i am sure that was done in the spring.
Weirdly the bottom copper pipes in and out on the downstairs rads are cold. One possible thing is an air lock, and EX has now advised me to use TVRs to turn ALL upstairs rads off, and make sure all downstairs rads are on full to see if that will force the water round the downstairs and then I can try bleeding. Otherwise it might be the pump on the heating system itself.
Not sure I want to turn the heating off upstairs here tonight to try this experiment...but I will see about it tomorrow.
Ionafan yep, I was there giving myself repetitive strain injury this morning hitting the refresh button for half an hour (just in case they sneakily let the tickets out before the allotted time) all those hours I spent sniping on ebay have truly paid off.The cold never bothered me anyway0 -
