Pigpen I had to have my 3 old boy cats PTS within 13 months (I had to have the first two PTS 15 days apart). I couldn't stay with them whilst the deed was done. I said my goodbyes in the treatment room then the vet took the old boy out the back. They explained what they were going to do in order for whichever old boy it was, to pass quickly and pain free. I trusted the vets (a different vet each time, same practice) as they have proved over the years they are a very caring practice and have the animals best interests at heart.

Although I wasn't there for the final goodbye I know they passed with people who were caring and compassionate and that gave/gives me comfort.

HTH, sorry you've got to make that decision. Mine let me know they'd had enough which made it a little bit easier.

thank you... but I just feel like while the vets are lovely they aren't someone who loves them and who makes them feel safe and loved and as the person who has cared for them for the last 14 years I feel it is my duty to be there to reassure him to the end.. but I don't do dead.. I'm just being a feeble wuss I know this.. ty Drusilla, but I am a quivering blob when it comes to all things dead.. I couldn't deal with the bunnies when they went..

I know we deal with things differently but this is something I feel strongly about.. I may just have to pull myself together and deal with it.. or I might send DD1 :p

Hopefully he'll be fine and just sicking up bird entrails and I am being hysterical lol.

Positive vibes to soappie and Valli, and also to pigpens cat

I stayed up too late last night, and the kiddies got up too early. We have a party at lunchtime to break up the day, which will help. Also collecting up a bit of ironing, and had to wash DS sheets again this morning.

They are currently full of beans playing pirates with the cardboard tube from the inside of a roll of wrapping paper... I need more tea, and a hot shower...

Right, will go hang up that bedding. Will have to go in airing cupboard as its damp out this morning :(

Went out to sort the car but its raining proper now. So just wd40'd the locks and wiped over the dirty door plates.

DS really pushing his luck today. When I was in the shower he was screaming like the house was on fire. I get out with my hair in suds to find he's just seen an advert for a fireman Sam scooter  that was after crying like a baby yesterday because he wanted a crown??? He's now on a final warning and any more shoite from him will result in being made to sit at my feet while everyone else enjoys the party.

Pfftt I hate feeling so cross.

There is a part of me that feels guilty that I wasn't there for their final moments but I knew for my own emotional well being I couldn't. Part of my goodbye to them was me apologising to them that I couldn't see them go but that I loved them and thanked them for loving me. All 3 boys were my comfort and reason to get up each day when OH was ill/died.

Right need to get on, feel a bit choked up now. More tea!

Soappie sorry I read your post last night but didn't take it in :o - posi-vibes to you.

MMM sending you a hug. My DH has always worked very long hours and trips away, another to US for a week before Christmas (third since Sept) and they always cover at least one if not two weekends. It is hard, you feel like a single parent. The thing is now that my older boys are 17 and 19 I have a strong relationship with them as I've always been here. Good luck.

Decco do you have more mogs now?

Another food shop done and a few more little presents whilst I was at it.

Need to put WM2 on the maiden/line next then do some ebay photos and make the curtain.
