Hi CatLew & welcome! Everyone is really friendly on here and we all just do what we can; no pressure if you can't do anything from your list (which I haven't today :o)!

lozzy88 bleugh to dog puke - hope your lunch stays put!

Mrs-MP are you a big book reader? I'm not hugely but am loving The Killing (the TV series was on a couple of years ago) and can't put it down!

Thought I'd done all my paid stuff but got another 3 jobs come in this afternoon; oh well, money will be helpful what with another 2 birthdays to come and Christmas. Apart from working not really done anything on my list apart from picking up and sorting next load of washing ready but never mind. Off to get DS soon; don't know where the day's gone.

  • Thank you for the lovely welcomes, and Just The Two Of Us - I know what you mean about those never ending emails from FlyLady, I think that's actually what put me off carrying on any longer!

Just out of interest, I have read Toot's big post at the start of the thread and I see it mentions 'Toot's list' - a master list of everything to get done in the house. Is there a link to this list or is it something that is posted regularly to be worked through?
  • a toots list is something you make yourself as everyones is different.
going around your house a room at a time and make a note of all the things that need doing. that is your toots list
    it could be things like
replace pullcord, change bath panel, scrub grout, put up shelf, buy new bathmats. new toilet seat etc
you get the idea, its not things youll do every week but things that you want to do but just dont get round to. if you make a toots list at least you have them to hand when you get the time or money to do some of them.
toots was a much loved member of the thread who set up the first 'toots' list and made the suggestion of how a toots list would work.

I've been doing mucky jobs, cleaned out the grate, washed out the wheelie bin and refilled the washed out bird feeders.
Just going to light the fire and update my list.

    Welcome cathrine

DS claimed my old cross stitch zebra from the LR the other week, he found a cross stitch in the gibble boxes onto of bunk beds that he wanted to claim for his room - cue one of my 99peee shoppeee frames with a flap on the back now has Bambi, Thumper, Mrs Quail and lots of little quail scene on his bedside table....very pleased my hoarding is seeing a second valued existence.

I had to sleep in DS's bed last night as he got too snuggled down with DD3 in my room (it's the warmest room currently as the heating pipes come up from the boiler right under my floorboards). DD4 overslept meaning a Daisy malfunction on my part, so all DS bedding now in the wash  oh well never mind.

Monday - Rooms of Doom (that'll be Dining Rooms then :rotfl:) and downstairs loos and the Study/Computer Room/Guest Bedroom 100% done

Skinty's Toots list for today (and the rest of this week til done)

make a Sausage Dog or similar for drafty front door
Sort out the "Man Drawer" in the kitchen and re-stock
Clean up builders mess (plaster and paint splatters) in hallway in 15 minute chunks [STRIKE] x12[/STRIKE] til done
find an empty picture hooks to hang it on - EX refusing to have me and my ham fists destroy the walls by hammering a teensy-weensy pair of pic hooks on it......so pic is carefully propped up for now, and hopefully I can manoeuvre him into a 30 second job when he comes to pick DS up on Sunday
[STRIKE]Re-framed old cross stitch of Bambi for DS's room [/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]rebook smear test[/STRIKE]
    [/Toots list]

Tuesday - kitchen and hallway 100% done

Wednesday - Bathroom and downstairs loo/ensuites 100% done

Thursday - Bedrooms one and all
    An hour to spare....
    [STRIKE]Wipe two flat surfaces[/STRIKE]
Dust the lightshades - [STRIKE]done DD4, DS and DD3's [/STRIKE] just spotlights in my room
[STRIKE]Wipe all the doors, tops and sides too[/STRIKE] included all the wardrobe doors in DS, DD3 and DD4 room - I am calling this done for now - mine can wait til next week :D
DD4's room (DD3 old room) walls, skirtings etc removed of all traces of eyeliner, black nail varnish, glitter nail varnish AND red nail varnish..........well the walls have had every last vestige of DD3 existence in that room removed...the fake nail glue marks on the window sill are more stubborn, and I may attack with some sandpaper at some point (I will add this to Toots list!)

    Extras
[STRIKE]Catch up on paperwork[/STRIKE] I emptied my coat pockets off 4 specs@ver prescriptions and put in filing box, put some credit card receipts in secure destruction....seeing as DS's prescription from March was in there, I would say that was long overdue....and a major victory for Team Flylady :rotfl:
Update your [STRIKE]festive[/STRIKE] young Uni Skint's return list. Countdown til they return and things that need doing

    Friday - Living Room Stairs
    15 minutes...

    15 minutes tidying up/clearing a hotspot
    Got 30 minutes...
Drag out what furniture you safely can and hoover behind, dust the skirtings whilst you are at it
    Got an hour....
    Hoover the stairs
Wipe the bannisters, marks on the wall by the stairs and lightshades
    Dust the mantle/coffee table
    Extras
Are you ready for when it snows,[STRIKE] salt (or cat litter), snow shovel[/STRIKE] put in cupboard under the stairs - no good in the shed if I have to dig my way into it :rotfl:, [STRIKE]frozen bread (or stash of bread flour),[/STRIKE] always whoopsied bread in Skinty's freezer [STRIKE]frozen milk[/STRIKE] well long life milk all 3 whole, semi and skimmed just in case, torch and batteries, hot water bottles- (I will check and make sure they are not perished, not wanting to turn up at A&E with burns on the Young Skints) etc in case of power outage. Supplies in the car too - spare hats/gloves/chocolate/spare blanket for each child etc

DD3 has come home from school and announced she is going Vegan (Vegetarianism usually strikes this time of year, as she gets incensed at the sheer waste of animal life through gluttony rather than hunger) DD2 has been Veggie for nearly 5 years now, but feels Vegan is a step she cannot commit to. So I have agreed to trial DD3 on the basis she keeps comments to herself, I have enough trouble shovelling food into DS as it is. Thank goodness for lots of veg in my freezer:eek:

Veggie Freezer Surprise is now roasting in the oven :rotfl: the Surprise will be if she eats it :rotfl::p

Right time to catch up with Fred, and sort out Listy for later.....so I can actually make a start on today's list.......I swear I will get a clean sweep this week!

ETA thanks to lozzy you prompted me to rebook my smear test, so that can go off the Toots list. While thinking about looking after myself, I am going to check under my armpits and the TWO runaway terrors out front for lumps and bumps in a minute

I will try to remember to do it as when the smoke alarm comes around on the list, any other flyladies going to check out "the twins" upstairs when they see the smoke alarm on Listy? flygents can remember to check downstairs so they don't feel left out :o
The cold never bothered me anyway

Weekly computer stuff done; some important letters (one each for Mr LW and myself) done to send to GP practise; major weed of contents of pc hard drive under way, but it's slow going as said pc is over eleven years old and runs like a dog. And I don't mean a greyhound!:D

Need to get dins under way shortly - nut loaf and rice with Wolfy's special sweet'n'sour sauce.;)
