Slipped in supermarket

How is it your fault? There was something on the floor and rather than looking where you were going, you blindly ambled on and went !!!!! over tit.
Perhaps you should learn to look where you're going rather than trying to claim compo for the fact that you were too lazy to pay attention to where you were walking.
You shouldn't get compo for being a ditz, you simply need to learn to look where you're walking. It's your job to make sure you don't step on crap on the floor, not the universe's place to make sure that your path is clear so you can wander around whilst in cloud cuckoo land0 -
Not true, there doesn't have to be a contemporaneous record of an accident for a claim to succeed.
There does however have to be some damages...that's what you claim for after all - damages. If there was no injury or loss (not even a mark according to the OP and she didn't mention any of her shopping being damaged in the fall...as she's gone as far as mentioning a non-existent pregnancy I expect she would have mentioned if her eggs had all been broken) there are no damages to claim.
By all means write to the shop and tell them what happened and ask that they take more care to ensure there are not slip and trip hazards about the place, but don't think you're entitled to any compensation. They may out of goodwill send an apology and a voucher...if they do it's a bonus.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -

sounds like an ambulance chaser. 'No Win No Fee' claim coming up.0 -
Erm, people asking to be reimbursed when they fall over and get a "bit sore, not even a bruised arm"?
I can be pretty clumsy at the best of times and it's never occurred to me to look for blame, or even compensation of some kind. When I have had a bump, I jump up as fast as I can and I'm more bothered about people chuckling at me falling over than anything else!!
I can't see any claim here..unless it's an injury that inconveniences you in any way, it looks like one of those things you should put down to experience. People do fall over sometimes.0 -

If there was a wet floor and no signage and I slipped on that, it wouldn't be my fault. And hey, if I can get some vouchers then great. We do live in a culture of "where there's blame, there's a claim" and it was completely their fault. Say it happened when I was pregnant or to an elderly person? The consequences could have been a lot worse.

Aye same here, wouldn't need to play the lottery anymore if this was the case!!!
Just yesterday I walked in to the rear o/s of my car after filling up with petrol because I wasn't paying attention - a letter to Asda it is0 -
I need to be reimbursed for reading this thread as it wasted my time. I charge £10 per hour for reading but I'm a slow reader so the op now owes me £100! Op please pm me so we can sort this out thanks0

But it didn't.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
I *might* have been pregnant. I *might* have been elderly. I *might* have hurt myself. Why not be thankful that you weren't any of these things, pay a bit more attention to where you're going in future and stop expecting money every time life doesn't work out the way you want. In fact, see it as a good lesson in how to live your life in a stoical and resilient manner - all good things to teach your child as opposed to 'ooh, something almost bad happened. Let's see how much cash we can make out of that'. Jeez."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

If it happened then and if it caused injury there might have been a claim. Similarly if you were elderly. Neither of these applied and you weren't injured. You're making yourself look greedy.xxxpinkladyxxx wrote: »The consequences could have been a lot worse.
When I'm out shopping later somebody may drop down and die. Who do you suggest I claim against for the trauma I may suffer?0
