Yep. They tried to idiot proof the world so the world just made better idiots. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Hope it wasn't Lidls - perhaps hoping for money to pay parking charge!

It's not easy trying to get compensation from a supermarket for a fall and in fact recently one fake claim was highlighed on an insurance fraud documentary programme where the person paced up and down the aisle before taking out a plastic tie and staging a fall - all nicely caught on CCTV - Needless to say the insurance company for the supermarket declined the payout and the matter was referred to the police.
So be very careful if thinking of claiming compensation for a fall where you did not injure yourself or highlight to the store at the time.0 -
I recently hurt my arm walking into a door which someone should have opened properly. The slight pain I suffered quickly went away, but I believe someone should be held responsible for this.
Now as this incident happened in my own house and it was my fault the door wasn't open wide enough for me to walk through, do you think I can claim for damages from my house insurance? If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -

now what you do is
1st file a report with local police to say you hurt yourself in your own home as you failed to open a door ( wait for the laughing to stop) and then ask can i have a crime number
2nd you call your insurance company and say you want to claim against yourself.0 -
I think if you'd have picked the snowflake up and taken it to customer services telling them what had happened they may have offered you a coffee or something similar and made sure you were okay but vouchers or compensation is a tad extreme.
My daughter caught her leggings on a part of a shelf that was sticking out in a supermarket a while back and the leggings ripped. I told customer services so they could fix the shelf because I didn't want someone else getting hurt. Very generously they gave my daughter a new pair of leggings which I wasn't expecting at all but it was a lovely gesture.
I think it all depends on how you approach it.LBM Jan 2011, Debt Free Sept 2017 - best feeling ever0 -
this is how i see it.
OP slipped on a piece of paper ( paper snowflake) bruised their ego/ street gred, never brought this issue up with store.

i slipped on a piece of paper in your ***** store as i was not watching where i was going,
i never informed the store as i suffered no injury
i never took any witness statements
I have no evidence anything happened
Edit: I might be pregnant or an OAP, not quite sure at the moment

You should be able to claim a decent sized sum. I'll help you make a case.
What if the door was filled with explosives and you unknowingly set it off?
What if it wasn't in-fact a door that walked in to you, but a hungry T-Rex?
Why stop at physical damage: What if you were naked and someone took pictures of you and posted them on the internet?

A couple of years ago, I tripped on a riser in my rented flat that I hadn't noticed was becoming loose and badly broke my wrist. I was shocked by the number of people suggesting lies I could tell the council in order to claim from them, a claims management company included.0 -
