Slipped in supermarket

I was shopping in a large supermarket today and as I was leaving, I slipped on a piece of paper (it was a snowflake that they have around the store). I obviously didn't see it as I don't generally look at the floor as I'm walking, especially when I have a bag of shopping. I hurt my arm but nothing serious. It probably isn't even bruised, just a bit sore. I only had a baby 2 weeks ago and I hate to think what could have happened if this had happened when I was pregnant. Is it worth me writing to the supermarket or will they just apologise and that's it? It was obviously really embarrassing so I didn't hang about afterwards to fill in an accident report or anything like that.

You have slipped up (pardon the pun) because you did not report the incident at the time it happened.
This should have been brought to the attention of the supermarket at the time and recorded. Because now (and still they come) you haven't got a leg to stand on.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

I see no harm in writing them a letter.0

Not true, there doesn't have to be a contemporaneous record of an accident for a claim to succeed.0 -

In which case wouldn't there have to be a medical record as proof of injury?Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson
