i have as many problems as everyone else, i was just wondering if anyone could help thanks?

Vodafone are behaving quite reasonably refunding six months of payments to you.

It is your responsibility when you take out a contract to understand the terms of that contract when you agree to it. In the case of mobile phone contracts, once the minimum term is up the contract becomes a monthly rolling contract. You made the mistake in assuming it had ended and you made a further mistake in not managing your finances properly to realise sooner that money was being taken. It seems to me that had Vodafone not informed you of your error, something they were not responsible for, you would still be paying it today.

You should be thankful for your six month refund and that the Vodafone advisor in question went above his job to actually alert you to the potential problem.
  • if you cant say anything useful don't bother to join in thanks!!!
I was asking for help & have got a life actually too :) your just as rude as Vodafone!!!
Never has the phrase "get a life" been more appropriate... if this is all you have to complain about then you are very lucky indeed.

This is a problem of YOUR making.

I think it is 'useful' to explain to you that YOU are responsible for this situation by continuing to make payments, not realising you were making those payments and then trying to pin the blame on someone else.

its like stealing candy from a baby what they did... I know its my own fault but when I asked them to help sort it out, they still insisted on a 30 day written notice after all the money they had from my bank account already

They were only insisting that you stick to the contract that you signed. You agreed to a fixed minimum term of 24 months, and once that finished you could upgrade, stay as you were or end at any time with 30 days notice. You stayed as you were and additionally began 2 new contacts. I think they were very good to refund you so much when they hadn't done anything wrong.

I never checked online Vodafone account, as never actually set this up. I did check my bank account and seen payments to Vodafone every month but thought the increased price was extra usage on our phones from month to month as were never the same, no that's the point they havnt got a 30 days notice in writing from me. but surely if a phone hasn't been used for nearly a year and the contract has come to an end then they should contact you?? its been running for nearly 3 yrs with 11 months ago the plan came to an end (24month plan) but it just shows you if you don't notice they wont tell you either, also if I had set up an online account the guy said I wouldn't see this old account because the plan was finished 11 months ago?? so why are they still taking money??

BIB Do you honestly think that with millions of customers, someone has time to trawl through accounts to check usage.

Surely theres an app for that. Lol . Banks do , mine always phone me about an account hardly used.

Seriously though you are right. Theres millions of customers, some who just have a phone for emergencies. Like my Mother, she pays a contract but hardly uses it. However most services do offer a best plan review.

Op 6 months refund is really good. You are £105 out of pocket. It maybe better to put this down to a lesson learnt.

    an app?

It is up to us customers of whichever service to keep an eye on what we are paying out for :money:

It was a joke really. There probably are progams that can do that, was my point.

I agree it is the customers responsibility though having signed up to a contract.

Banks contact customers of "dormant" accounts because it costs the bank to keep them running, sending out statements, etc. Vodafone wouldn't because they are earning money from them.
(not a dig at you, just explaining the difference to the OP)

OP, you were very lucky that they gave you six months refund - they didn't have to as it was your mistake.
 Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.
  • Thinking about this I reckon it all boils down to what was said when the OP upgraded with Phones4U.

If she went in and said I want X then how is the assistant supposed to know that she already has a contract with vodafone ? If however she went in and went I want to upgrade to X then that's a different kettle of fish and then I think its not so much vodafone's problem as one caused by Phones4U.

However I do have to admit the OP is coming across as a spoilt child not getting her own way.....
