We still have local weekly papers where a couple of pages are detailing the activity in the local magistrate's court this week.
Guilty, some years ago two known local thugs damaged windows on parent's house and I managed to catch the two people in question, called the police and got them to court. As I was the only witness they were let off, however from readings those columns in local newspapers I found out that the two people in questioned were later convicted of much more serious offences.0 -
Seems to me we have been here before - and the resulting Sticky Post quoted here for info would indicate non MoneySaving Posts are welcomed - and if necessary moved after a period to allow maximum replies.
I have stated clearly on this board before, we are a unique community here, both in Northern Ireland and on this board. If someone asks a question which is Northern Ireland related, albeit not necessarily money related, the post stays here in the meantime before it gets moved to another board. That way the OP gets maximum replies.
If anyone who uses these boards, disagrees with the way something has been handled or managed, by myself or any other BG for that matter, please by all means contact for advice.
I hope sincerely that we will now have an end to these types of comments as I feel it's disheartening to see them popping up on the board now after it has been in existence for the past (almost) 6 years.
Kind Regards

You're spot on John. I've been posting various things like this since last week, it hasn't saved me from some sharp remarks. My ignore list did though! :rotfl:0 -
I know - I feel that some of the remarks about you were way out of order - I find you very balanced - you say what you believe and you ensure that you make it clear that your opinion may well differ from others but that everyone is entitled to have an opinion. I was very disappointed by some of the ill thought out comments made by some of those going on the attack and trying to besmirch you.
Like you I find the opportunity to give my own opinions and hear others opinions very interesting and educational and knowing I am participating in a forum where your background and persuasion has no relevance to your presence on the site is very satisfying. Keep up the good work!John0 -
Hi everyone, thanks for your thoughts on this.
We're going to leave things as they are now.
Thanks

Excellent news - gives us the chance to demonstrate our ability to debate issues in a non specific forum where no side can claim to be in charge.John0

Andrea, thank you so much for letting us know the result and please thank the management team for taking the time to discuss our request.
Would it be possible to place a sticky on the forum letting all NI posters know that it's ok to post non-moneysaving items here?Excellent news - gives us the chance to demonstrate our ability to debate issues in a non specific forum where no side can claim to be in charge.
John, thank you so much for your very kind comments. I hope all the members using the forum agree with you and we can get on with providing moneysaving information and having great banter, Northern Ireland style.0 -
Sure there already is one. It just seems that nobody ever bothers to read it.
Yes there is but I think it could be improved. The major issue I've seen is that some members don't want non moneysaving items to be discussed and it isn't spelt out in the sticky that this is permissible. If it were then I think this issue would just go away and there'd be no more asking for a separate discussion thread.
