Sounds good to me. I think I am persuaded.

reads whom mention Carphone Warehouse has Giff Gaff superseded them then? Does Giff Gaff have the 32MG one?

    You are getting confused..... ;)

Giffgaff don't sell phones, just a sim, that you buy a goody bag for out of credit that gives you free minutes, texts and data, these cost from £10 a month

The phone needs to be bought separately at around £300..

giffgaff are going to sell handsets from hopefully the end of this month. They are apparently going to be very competitive on price, sold unlocked and you can pay either monthly or buy the phone outright.http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Blog/The-first-22-giffgaff-phone-range/ba-p/10417127?utm_source=giffgaff&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=email-OBC007a

If you want to have the phone that everybody seems to want then get an iPhone......if you want a good phone then do some research and decide what features etc. mean the most to you.

The Samsung S4 is superior to the iphones but it isn't " the phone to have".....dont be a sheep and follow the flock....make your own choice.

I decided to give the S4 a miss and this time went for the HTC One ( not the one x or one s or any other of the one's ).....I decided because of its build quality ......the best built smartphone to-date.

I have not been disappointed, I have previously had iphones and Samsung's and this is the best phone I have ever had.

You make your own choice but dont be a sheep !!
Response will be split in two camps, iPhone fanboys and everyone else.

Personally I steer clear of Apple.

I can't make my own choice this is why I am on this forum. Baa.

It's good to know I made the right decision with the HTC wildfire which is a great little phone. (Add on to partners contract, you see, I considered the damn things as ball and chains. Who decided I needed a phone so that they can contact me.)

As far as I can see Nexus 5 is sold to me. I use text, email, phone, and apps. Baa Baa.

For me it's not a case of knowing what I need but learning the technology to help me still. I was seriously considering the Borough's course on "how to make the most of your smartphone". Yes, really there are such things, See Luddite.

I can't wait I'm so excited now to learn this new technology and all the things I can do. Yes, what will I be able to do?

Baa Baa blacksheep have you any wool?....

Possibly in terms of the hardware on its own, but Android doesn't beat iOS, particularly for someone who is new to smartphones. For ease of use, the iPhone wins, as well as for the free and frequent OS updates and ability to back up and restore all your settings and data to another phone.

It's amazing how much hatred and misinformation there is regarding iPhones.
Last time I checked, they weren't the biggest seller - no, everyone wants a Samsung these days. So my advice is buy a Samsung, they are perfect, you can sing their praises and never be accused of being a fanboy.the S5 is going to be spectacular.
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

Free and frequent OS updates which have a habit of causing some sort of issues :p

Apple have sold over 60 million iPhone 5's so far. But this hasn't stopped their market share falling another 2%.
If you are going for an Android handset then I would suggest the Nexus 5 as it is not full of bloatware like the branded handsets are.

I have an HTC One S & find it has a huge drawback in that there is no MicroSD card slot.

If you want to stream media from your phone to your TV, then Android 4.0.0+ has Miracast built-in. If your TV supports it (or if you buy a small dongle for your TV) then you can easily pair the 2 devices to watch movies on your TV streamed from your phone (or even view photos, surf the net or read emails).
Android (and Windows) mobiles can also connect easily to each other via bluetooth. Whereas iOS devices will only connect to other iOS devices (and AirPrint compatible printers). Spent quite a while trying to pair-up an iPad to an Android phone. Never did get it to work.
    Never Knowingly Understood.

If your budget is limited, take a look at that new Motorola, reviews are saying it doesn't come with excessive bloatware.

I like iPhones - they can be a phone, a camera, a sat nav, a game machine, play music, do email, surf the web, a flashlight, and even a remote control.

Of course, so can other smart phones.

In my case I have an iPod, so the iPhone's music and apps are 100% compatible, and managed by the same iTunes program on my computer.

I've also got a TomTom sat nav, but not an updates subscription; the TomTom app for the iPhone is cheaper and includes updates. (I've tried a free satnav app, but it's not quite as good as TomTom.)

In my case I had a load of apps for my iPod and also had an older work iPhone, so when it came to getting a phone the iPhone 5 was the obvious choice.

It may not be for others.

I quite like the Samsung Galaxy range; they're the only ones I've looked over at and though "hmmm - nice", but some of the Android phones are just too big.

I do not at all like Windows phone (my work chose to replace the iPhones with a cheaper Windows phone, and it is carp).

So, my recommendation is an iPhone.
