In the 21st century I thought we'd got to a point where women wore trousers without eyebrows being raised.

Not everybody lives in the 21st century though. My dad is trapped in 1940's.
I think you should wear exactly what you want. I wouldn't have given a stuff if people had turned up to my wedding in a bin liner. The important thing is being there to enjoy the happy couple's day.

Wearing a bin liner is all well and good but it does run the risk of drawing the main focus away from the happy couple and on to the bag lady in the pews.

She's now wavering over thick tights and mini skirt.

I'm just wearing a dark suit. The same one I wore for Sunday's remembrance day service. Being a man is a lot easier.

I went to a wedding where the mother of the bride was wearing a trouser suit.
  • I think in weeding party you should wear something gorgeous. I don't think trouser is a good idea for weeding party.

Trousers are absolutely fine as long as they are 'dressy' enough.

Loads of women don't want to show their legs for all sorts of reasons, they have varicose veins, scars, diabetic ulcers, lymphoedema, cankles, all sorts.
  • I did it a few weeks ago, and I'm doing the same in a few hours time as I'm going to a wedding this afternoon!

I'm wearing navy blue tailored trousers with a cream silk floaty blouse, both from Monsoon.
I dithered for ages over whether to wear trousers or not, but I went for it and got lots of compliments. :D

I don't think that it will matter, as long as she is comfortable and warm. Some trouser suits can be really smart without looking like you are off to see the bank manager.

Also who's ever wedding it is I am sure would rather know that the guests are happy, warm and feel comfortable.

As long as it is not in the same colour as the bride I really can not see the problem.
Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A

Mrs G (almost) always looks gorgeous... even when she is gardening.

Anyway, for those interested, she's settled on black trousers, black sweater, black suede angle boots with a 5" stiletto heel. All that is wrapped in a full length maroon embroidered satin coat.

    We leave in ten minutes.

Her outfit sounds fab, especially the coat. I was at a Wedding last weekend and a couple of the ladies had trousers on with flowing blouses and looked lovely.

:rotfl::rotfl: I always wear a nice smart trouser suit whilst weeding the garden.

Her outfit sounds lovely, have a great day.
The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.
