Women: Trousers to a wedding?
Comments
-
Trousers are absolutely fine. I never wear dresses or skirts, and anyone who'd want me to wear one obviously wouldn't be someone who knew me and loved me enough to want me in their wedding in the first place. A trouser suit can look superb! What is it with the obsession that a woman has to show her legs, or would even want to? :cool:0

There were a couple of people wearing trouser suits at our wedding. The only one who stood out was the one wearing a suit a few sizes too small  with the resultant cameltoe
.
IMO, trouser suits are very smart, more so than someone freezing to death in a summer dress with blue mottled skin.
Ps: have seen pics of your wife and unless she wears a child's suit, she's unlikely to be too large for a suit!Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
What about a calf length skirt and nice (ie not Doc Martins) leather boots? It's amazing what you can hide under that - flannel knickers, woollen tights, thermal socks ..!0

my sister were tight black trousers with very high red stilletos at my wedding. She looked stunning. I called her Pippa all day! I loved her looking different and making a statement. She is funny and that's just the way she is.
Other members wore trousers. I was happy that anyone wore what they were comfortable with so they could enjoy themselves.0 -
I couldn't do it simply because I don't own any trousers!0

I think you should wear exactly what you want. I wouldn't have given a stuff if people had turned up to my wedding in a bin liner. The important thing is being there to enjoy the happy couple's day."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

The last wedding we went to (in the summer) I wore smart, black, wide leg trousers. I have a very dodgy left leg and so dresses and skirts aren't really an option.
I wore them with a nice beaded cardigan, a 1920s style clutch bag and the most amazing pair of gold ballet pumps (I can't wear heels) all teamed with a patterned walking stick. I was the only woman in trousers, but I didn't look out of place.0 -
The last wedding I went to was about 5 years ago. I bought a trouser suit to wear.
It never even crossed my mind that there'd be any question about whether it was appropriate to wear trousers to a wedding. In the 21st century I thought we'd got to a point where women wore trousers without eyebrows being raised.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Trousers made from artificial fibres can be just as cold as a skirt or dress..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -
My mother in law wore trousers to our wedding in april 2012. They were wide legged lilac ones with a matching longline jacket. She looked lovely.
My sister in law and her (female) partner also wore trouser suits, both in black with coloured shirts/tops underneath.
I didn't think there was any issue at all with any of them. Hubby did.... only that his sister was wearing trainers!!!First date 10.2.2002
Engaged 18.8.2010
Wedding 9.4.2012
Baby #1 due 26.2.2014 :j0
