  • I spent the last few days checking for the upgrade, finally today I got fed up waiting and flashed the factory image from google using adb and fastboot.

I'm not sure I want another update.

Each time its like going back to scratch again, I have to reroot it and reinstall some stuff that no longer works. Some apps are not compatable with the new version etc.

    A PITA.

So whats new for the plain old 32gb nexus?

I got the OTA a few days ago for my Nexus 4. I don't think the wife's Nexus 7 (2012) has seen it yet though.

My dads nexus 4 is still waiting, My nexus 5 has it... obviously ;)

The kitkat experience every other device gets will be vastly different from the nexus 5 though as it has the 'google experience launcher' or whatever it's called... which makes it look/feel quite different.
  • My Nexus 4 got tired of waiting :p so I updated myself (XDA.Wugfresh Toolkit).

I definitely think battery life has improved and everything just seems faster, smoother on KitKat.

+1 for the Wugfresh Nexus Root Toolkit. It hadn't been updated when I first posted but it has now and was updated again quite soon after there was a second OTA. Mine is now on the latest build and rooted but using otherwise stock firmware.
