Fog Lights

What I find funny is the people who drive around with front fogs on because it's "cool init" but one of the bulbs has blown so they are driving around with just one fog on.0

I've recently started to notice more cars, even some new ones, with only one foglight working. If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

Which cars lack this feature?
I've had several Korean/Jap cars in recent years, and all have had an electronic fog-light button on the dash somewhere which automatically disengages when the car is switched off, or the lights are turned off.
I have also had a couple of Fords which do as you say... so had assumed that all cars had some sort of mechanism such as these to stop people driving with fogs on all year round.
So which (crap) manufacturers are we talking about here?0 -

It's even more painful to the eyes, since cars have been fitted with high level brake lights.
I'm now one of those pillocks, I too get annoyed, but I know the reason why you are seeing it more so now.......
I've just changed my car and it is auto/dsg but more so has autohold parking brake, when I come to a stop and the EPB applies, the brake lights remain on, I only noticed more so when a bus was behind me and I could see in the mirror that the brake lights were on even though my foot was not resting on the brake.0 -

They're both the same power.0 -
It's because advertising and the media have created an image of front fog lights making the car look cool, when testing cars on motoring shows, not just Top Gear, they generally have the front fogs on, likewise often in advertising material the car will be shown with front fogs on and I remember a brochure for the Peugeot 206, about 10 years agos stating on equipment on a certain model 'Sporty front fog lights'I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0

It's not just Ford. Most manufacturers do that these days, in fact I don't know of any modern cars which are not set up like that.
Which begs the question, how do people manage to forget to turn their fog lights off, for weeks/months after we've had a touch of fog
Do they not turn their lights off, even when parked?0 -

With most modern cars, you don't need to turn the lights off, the lights will turn off as soon as you remove the key from the ignition, the headlight switch on my car (Qashqai) is permanently switched on.
As for fog lights, or to be exact, misuse of front fogs, wouldn't the answer be that manufactures design the switching so that the fronts cant come on unless the rears are on, that would be the simple and easy solution, after all front fogs on = Cool, rear fogs on when not needed = dodery old fart who's forgot to turn them off, definately uncool.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -

Is that when they are indicating, by any chance?
Some VWs do that - you put on the indicator and the fog light on that side comes on, or if you turn it will also come on. It only occurs at slower speeds.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0
