  • Aw how lovely as GP would say - visitors :)

The fires on and the kettle is a whistling, who's for some tea and toast?

So, we skedaddled for a very blustery walk with the mutts and then had a naughty chips for lunch Mr RG is a bad influence on me. Just as well we'd walked 3 miles beforehand.

    :)

  • Afternoon Pippi,

Sounds like you have one hell of a plan sorted. I will be reading your diary avidly and feeding off your enthusiasm, (which I lack sometimes :o).

    Have Subscribed

Well I am nothing if optimistic and slightly over enthusiastic - how lovely for you to pop by - I'm often lacking too so we can chum along!

    Hi Pippi,

I think the plans sound amazing and with Welliefest you get to enjoy the run up almost as much as the real event.

Looking forward to hearing about your preparations.

    KJ

The wellyfest was epic and fun and ace frugal chums made it epic! I'm a bit nervous but also excited about the changes afoot.

I mean a house with NO kids in it (aside holidays and trips home for food/washing) what will that be like!!

We'll see what nonsense we pull off eh! Always an adventure that never goes to plan.

Hey there me dear - thank you for the good wishes! How's your stores coming along>?

And Maty -- they sound like they're having fun.

My two walked the legs off me this morning. Now snores are abounding on the sofa (the dogs NOT Mr RG)

    :)

  • So today's MSE bravery involved the following.

Walking with mutts on the way to other chores which saved two trips out in the car.

Checked bank - unexpected holiday pay cleared bank so now can pay £82.16 off the CC's.

Daughter asked for tea bags - a box of speciality tea bags from a food swap (twinings don't you know) was plonked in her arms - use them up before I buy new ones :)

£1.19 for a bottle of fizzy grape juice spends for today.

Mr RG is leaving the steading soon so he paid for the chips.

So the debts down by another lump and its a LSD

No free low flying veggies today - but we spotted a whole heap of water cress in a burn on our walk today. (I'm' using the royal we that lot out walking with me are about as biological as a rock band.) Now if I LIKED watercress that would be something, but maybe when the days get so short and the vitamin levels get low we can take a torch and forage some for soup.

    :)

Onwards going to a chums for tea tonight :) free grub all good!

211 days til we fly this coup!

    :)

PS oh, exciting text for those NON veggie readers - my free pork (exchanged for a bit of report writing for a grant) is to be picked up tomorrow.

Free local grub and debts down again.

I'm liking the sound of that. :)

(The pork arrives after the Rock God gets on a boat, shhhhh, don't tell)

  • YAY to the new diary and the next stage in your stripey life!

You're not getting away from us that easily you know...
  • Thank you! I keep talking to the walnut tree you know telling it how one day we'll be eating its abundant nuts.

It sounded so wrong...................but its still quite peedie :) so probably didn't understand the giggles.

Off to get ready for a free scoff and some lovely chat.

    Have a great evening :)

Working tomorrow - hoping the squalls die down but extra hours mean time off at xmas :)

Tomorrow's plan also needs to include a fridge/freezer food audit and a stack of meal plans as the RG is out of the building so just me and the girl child to plan for. Lots of soups I think, and porridge (being half welsh, Mr RG doesn't really understand about porridge, he makes it with sugar if I let him - bleurgh)

    :) have a great one.

Liver fluke? Off to google. Thanks Aunty C - I'll leave the watercress be for now.

And Sparkles off for a peek. Lets see what you're up to!

Adventures we like very much don't we :) and new chapters which bring us ever so much closer to family and chums :) Mr RG and myself had 'the money chat' today - I'm assured not to fret too much about employment straight away as I might be needed for painting and drain cleaning in the old pad before we find one of our own.

Marriage is all about glamour right?

Happy having had a lovely free evening with chums :) which ended in a food profit for us :)

Off to bed soon as Monsieur Rock God is on an early ferry. No rest for the wicked.

    Sleep tight!

    Seventh Anniversary Debt-free and Proud!
You dont want liver fluke ...the mudsnails drop the wee larvae on the grass ... Or in this case on watercress, the host .. Usually a cow or a sheep pick them up and grow them on inside to full grown liverflukes, who move into their liver and start laying eggs ... Whilst burrowing into and destroying your liver ... In the human, the liver fluke can also migrate anywhere in your body .. Better pass up on this free food Pippi :/
Its just a bad day, Not a bad life ..

    Ewww

    Mara and Aunty C thanks

As an auld (very old I tell you) ex sheep farmer (we had coo's too (50) on our farm, but not as many as the 750-1000 sheep) I should ken this stuff. I still don't think sheep are cute. Did I mention I use to give the coo's names, my ex farmer husband use to walk off muttering. :D Not a fan of bovine humour that chap.

We always dosed for fluke, thankfully but I never knew what it was.

    Shudders.

I'll just grow my own I think.

    Pesky snails.

Thank you chums - I don't want fluke soup. Bleurgh.
