Greying the oddest thing is that I use her book in my class as its the only sensible one around. And, she's probably taking over my class.
Lifes a bit odd eh?
Beanie how's life today? I love lavender too and if you like lavender you'll prob love the verbena too.
Greying the tumblings out of my head I think should never be printed. However, I am about to draft a wee email to a lady about working on something collaboratively, more of a comedic, how not to garden. Which I guess is how I write anyway! And you're very kind.
TRG's boat was a bit bumpy shall we say.
Mutts are walked and I need to revisit yesterdays list to fathom what I'm upto today.

And yes pippi As Greying said you too have written a book, in blog form but also your thesis. You are one clever lady. Don't forget that.

Most of yesterday's mischief managed.
The mower started, I charged the battery all by myself and I think gave it a wee clean all over engine and WHOOOSH it went. Then it refused to start again. Pesky thing. I think it needs to go to the menders to make it work properly.
A friend is interested in adopting him, if not he'll go to the menders and be sold there as they have a wodge of potential homes looking for such fine beasts.
Sad but necessary - If I sell him the money will be used for the garden only. Not bills. I got him with some botanical survey money from Shetland, so as he came from flowers I think he should be mutated into flowers. I might buy a bench with some of it and we'll still chat.

Right here we go again.
So I know I had this crazy goal to try and pay off the cards before I flitted 'sooth'.
A few things I have discovered on the way (which we all knew but never pointed out as we're all far too polite).
I'm quite seriously addicted to food shopping. It gives me pleasure creating delights and scoffing too.
I'm wondering if I harness this in a positive way.
When I was little (er, I'm quite little, lets say younger.) my favourite times were talking into the town with my mum and grannie three times a week for 'the messages'. I have hence recognised my grannie was a fit auld bird.
I love the 'oohing' and the 'ahhing' and the bargain hunting that food shopping provides on a regular basis.
To be honest whilst I've had more time due to lack of food shopping these past months I've kinda missed the excitement of it.
(Don't judge me, I'm quite odd.)
Anyhows - it got me thinking when we move we do need a keen meal planner going (shoot me now, I know I don't like meal planning but it works) as we'll have little left for frippery.
So if I get me stores in order once 'shifted' can I indulge myself and my little (new and gorgeous) orkney shopping basket in a bit of not quite daily but regular few times a week 'fresh' shopping and bargain hunting.
We've proven to ourselves we can happily live under £100 or around that figure for groceries.
I wonder if that's the way for me to indulge but keep the frugality.
Ponders.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Secondly.
I had this crazy goal to pay off the cards before we head.
So, I've just got my pay early (well technically its a week early but its banked) and it will clear soon.
If the refund from the wrong card payment comes through, I'm seriously pondering just paying the balance off.
I know I can be a frantic over payer, and sometimes leave myself short but I've been tossing and turning tonight about this one.
Yes I'll need some dosh when we move for 'unexpected' stuff.
But, if I pay the cards that will leave me completely clear and ready to start the new life with no credit card debt.
I'll still have the overdrafts but they'll be next to work on.
I'll still have me student loan, but lets not talk about that right now - long term goal is to pay that off.
I'll still probably owe Penguin Face £550 but thats a 'just whenever' interest free job.
Pros and con's of paying it off.
+ its paid and I'll move without any burden like that
+ I can start me new budget/life on a better clear footing
+ DD is away and I've thus far no 'unexpected' DD type expenses, we all know the kind.
+ Mr McFlowers has intimated that he's happy for me to pay the card fully and if there's any shortage during June, he's happy to be pickpocketed.
+ I'd quite like to enter the next chapter on a positive note.
+ I can afford to this month, no rent no bills aside movers (over half paid now), last phone bill and last electric which are all reasonable.
+it would stop me spending all my spare cash on flowers. Lets be realistic, that might well happen.
Con's
- It will seriously restrict my cash flow during June
- June's wage isn't to be a 'full' one, but it might be fatter than one day a week as I've lots to be getting on with. After the interviews in early June for a part of my job I'll know what extra hours there are and that will depend largely on when the new buddy can start.
- I was thinking to give DD a sum for going away with but she doesnt seem to feel she needs it, what if she changes her mind?
- Means Mr McF really will have a complete change of finances this month and inherit a new house and a new wife.
- will the dogs have enough bonios?
- its not the last debt (that's penguin face ignoring student loans for now obviously) so I wont' be debt free just credit card free and I've two car payments left which are 207 for june and july each. The car rate is 4.5% and so that's got to get paid before penguin chops.
I really need to go and do some sums.
Ponders.
